Factors to Consider When Buying a Raincoat for Your Toddler.
Season - Consider the season you're buying for. In colder weather you'll want a warmer waterproof coat than in warmer weather.
Size - Choose a size that your toddler will fit into the longest. Obviously you don't want a raincoat to swamp him or her but on the other hand you don't want a raincoat they will grow out of in 2 weeks either. Look for raincoats where you can roll up sleeves or there's adjustable cuffs so you can lengthen the arms and adjust the arms and they can wear them a little longer.
Lining - A cotton lined raincoat can offer more comfort and depending on the lining material more warmth than an unlined raincoat.
Length of the raincoat - A longer raincoat will cover more of the children's clothing.
Machine or hand wash? - Some coats you can wash in the machine but many raincoats are hand wash or wipe clean only.

Factors to consider when buying rainboots for your toddler
There's lots of different rain boots on the market. When making your choice about which ones to purchase for your toddler it may be worth considering the factors below:
- Easy pull-on handles. This will help you put the boots on and your toddler may be able to use them to put the boots on themselves.
- Lining - It's worth checking the lining of some boots. Some boots have moisture absorbing cotton lining which dries quickly
- How high are the rain boots? Higher rainboots will protect from all puddle splashes.
- Are the boots 100% waterproof?
- Are the soles non slip?

Factors to consider when buying a toddler umbrella
- Is it easy to open and close?
- Is the size good for a small child? Will it be easy for them to carry?

Games to play outside on a rainy day.
Toddler rainwear means you can get outside and enjoy the rain. Here are some ideas of games to play and things to do outside when it's raining.
Take a container outside and see how many raindrops you can catch. Catch a few raindrops on your tongue. Can you catch any raindrops in your hands? What about turning your umbrella upside down and catching raindrops inside. How many raindrops can you catch?
Go for a walk
Get dressed in your rainwear. Pick up your umbrellas and go for a walk. Talk about what you can hear and see. What does the rain sound and smell like? What happens to the soil when it gets wet? How does the air feel? Is it humid or fresh? Explore everything with all your senses and talk about everything you see.
An obvious game to play with toddlers. Jump in the puddles and splash with your feet. Can you jump from one puddle to the next? How high can you jump in the puddle? How high does the water splash?
When it rains a whole host of new animals appear. Where I live it's snails and slugs. Go animal spotting and see which insects and animals enjoy the rain. Is there anywhere you can spot frogs? Maybe look for worms. Toddlers are fascinated by a whole host of new creatures to see. Where have all the other animals gone? Can you spot them and see where they are sheltering from the rain?
If the Sun is coming out while its raining go on a rainbow hunt. Can you see a rainbow? How many colors are there?
Take your bath toys outside. Can you float a rubber duck in a puddle? Which toys float and which toys sink?
