Updated on May 4, 2014

Jewelry trends 2014

Jewelry trends 2014: In 2013 the Jewelry world was marked by the introduction of new exotic pieces of jewelry such as ear cuffs and knuckle rings. In addition we saw some specific trends that were present over the course of the year such as rose gold jewels as well as geometric and neon colored pieces. 2014 is very promising... As designers start to launch their collections we can already see some hints of what is coming. A strong byzantine influence can be seen in Dolce & Gabbana's jewelry collection with the presence of crowns and crosses. Thick and heavy chains were the main accessories for the Channel collection and Grunge bracelets were the hit accessory in Yves Saint Laurent runway show. Weather designer jewels or not it is always a great idea to invest in few trendy jewelry pieces that will help accessorize the outfits you already have. Other great and more affordable trends that are coming back in 2014 is the layering of bracelets, which allows us to mix it up some old and new pieces, urban tribal jewels which allows us to be creative with less expensive materials and at last art deco inspired pieces, which can be shopped for in vintage stores for a great and affordable price. As we enter 2014 I will make sure to release more trends to keep us up to date.

So make sure to open the jewelry drawers and boxes, gather as many pieces as possible, add few extra pieces to the collection and start stacking the pieces in a way that makes sense or in a way that it does not! 08 - Armored Joint Knuckle Rings

The year of 2013 was market by very interesting ring shapes. Designers showcased some really inventive and architectural rings and have taken a simple circular design to another level by creating double rings, triple rings as well as knuckle rings. In 2014 designers have gone even father by designing and engineering the Armored Knuckle Rings. Incredibly sophisticated all the armored ring I have tried on are super comfortable since the joint allows the finger move. On top of being super comfy the ring, no matter the design or metal it is crafted with, truly makes a statement with its powerful, I am taking over your finger look!

07 - Typography and Volume Lettering Jewels

One of the most popular jewelry fashion trends for 2014 is volume lettering and typography inspired jewels. Initial pendents, hip saying charms and message bracelets or rings are few ways to incorporate typography and volume lettering into your designs. In addition to being able to use some pieces that we already have in our jewelry case, such as the famous initial necklace that everyone has, it is time to invest on a typography or volume letter piece that really makes a statement. Oversized pieces are the way to go! Here we feature a picture from Lavin's runaway show showcasing his 2014 Fall Jewelry collection.

Although few years ago we saw a pop of color in clothing, shoes and handbags in 2014 this trend has caught up into the jewelry world as well and primary colors will be present in jewelry in a variety of ways.
