Top 5 Best Anti-Aging Body Washes

Updated on September 17, 2012

Creamy Body Wash Formulas for Younger Looking Skin

Taking care of mature skin is important to keep it looking it's best. Opt for a super rich, moisturizing body wash to get gorgeous, glowing skin from head to toe. In addition to moisturizing body washes, many beauty companies have come out with anti-aging body wash formulas with added wrinkle smoothing ingredients to tighten and tone your skin as you shower. Read on for a list of the top 5 best anti-aging body washes on the market. Get ready for healthy, younger-looking skin for your whole body!

Dove Pro Age Body Wash Review
Dove Pro Age Body Wash Review

1. Dove Pro Age Body Wash

The number one spot on the list goes to Dove Pro Age Body Wash. This super creamy anti-aging body wash produces a nice luxurious lather and softens skin like no other. Enriched with glycerin, emollients, natural soy oil and olive oil it gives skin the nutrients it needs for optimized cell turnover and silky smoothness.

After just one use, skin is supremely hydrated and softer to the touch. With continued use, fine lines are softened and the skin is restored to a smooth, youthful radiance. Dove Pro Age Body Wash is number one on the list because of it's ability to moisturize even the roughest skin like no other.

The scent is pleasant, although a bit too perfumey for some. It's dermatologist recommended and like all Dove products, it's enriched with ¼ moisturizing cream for vital, healthy skin.

Olay Total Effects Body Wash Review

2. Olay Total Effects Body Wash

The second best anti-aging body wash is Olay Total Effects, Deep Penetrating Moisture body wash. It offers seven visible results. With continued use, it improves elasticity, relieves dryness, deeply conditions skin, brightens dull skin, evens skin tone, smooths rough skin and minimizes the appearance of dry lines.

This body wash does it all. The only reason it didn't make the number one spot on the list is because although it's very moisturizing, it is less hydrating than Dove Pro Age. However, it does provide some very nice skin brightening and toning effects after about 8 weeks of use.

The scent, like most body washes for mature skin, is on the perfumey side, although I find the fragrance to be very nice and clean. Because the hydrating properties of this wash aren't as intense as Dove Pro Age body wash, it's recommended that you follow up with the Olay Total Effects body lotion after you shower for best results.

Boscia Jujube Body Wash Review

3. Boscia Jujube Rejuvenist Amino Body Wash

This anti-aging body wash from Boscia is a department store variety that can be kind of pricey. However, it's made with 100% all natural ingredients and is enriched with an amino acid complex for stronger, younger-looking skin.

The main ingredient, Jujube fruit encourages healthy cell rejuvenation and a strengthening of the skin for a smoother, firmer appearance.

Other wholesome, wrinkle-fighting ingredients include jojoba leaf, green tea, serine, alanyl-glutamine, willowherb, raspberry leaf, and encapsulated panthenol.

The all-natural formulation of this body wash makes it an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin. The scent is very light and fresh and rinses cleanly with little to no scent remaining.

The cons to this wash are the price, at around $22 a bottle, and the fact that it isn't nearly as hydrating as the previous body washes on the list. However, if you're looking for something more natural that won't leave behind a strong fragrance, Jujube Rejuvenist Amino Body Wash is the one for you.

Avon Firm and Restore Anti-Aging Body Cleanser Review

4. Avon Skin So Soft Firm & Restore Body Cleanser

Skin So Soft Firm & Restore Body Cleanser takes the number 4 spot on our list. This anti-aging body wash exfoliates to remove dull, dead skin cells and moisturizes with natural Babassu oil. It has a sheer floral fragrance that isn't over powering. While not the most hydrating wash on the shelf, it's exfoliating beads and skin firming properties make it a good choice for aging skin.

This product works best if used as a part of the Skin So Soft Firm & Restore bath and body regimen. The regimen includes the cleanser, body lotion, hand cream and neck & chest cream. With a low price of around $7 per product, using the whole collection won't break the bank.

St. Ives Collagen Elastin Body Wash Review

5. St. Ives Collagen Elastin Body Wash

St. Ives Collagen Elastin Body Wash is enriched with collagen, elastin and vitamin E to relieve extra dry skin. It also helps strengthen the skin for a firmer, more youthful appearance. It has a creamy texture that produces a nice, thick lather while you shower. The scent is light and clean and leaves you feeling clean and refreshed.

At around $3 a bottle, this anti-aging body wash is the most economical on the list. Although it is an excellent choice for mature, dry skin, it doesn't pack as many anti-aging ingredients as it's competitors. However, at such a value, it is definitely worth a try. If nothing else, your skin will feel more smooth and moisturized than with traditional shower gels or bar soaps.

I've used some of the washes mentioned but, by some distance the best is an Argan Oil soap for everyday use. You can also use Moroccan Black Soap twice a week to exfoliate your skin and then use a kessa glove to scrub away the dead skin. Then get lubed up in argan oil to finish. I strongly recommend it to anyone.

Moisturize moisturize moisturize - oh how very wise advice that is. Skin loves to be kept moisturized.
