Trendy Handbag Designers

Updated on April 27, 2015

Love The Bag You Have, Lust The Bag You Want

Of course, every year it seems like new designers come out and sweep you off your feet when it comes to handbags.

It's easy to list off a handful of names that every woman would drool over, and I might even mention a few of them.

Here are some truly amazing handbag lines from some of the greatest designers out there.

Note: Feel free to leave this post open on your computer if you're looking for a special holiday gift hint to leave your husband, fiancé, boyfriend, father, etc.

Louis Vuitton

The Hottest of the Hot

Louis Vuitton has become a household name (at least in our household) for handbags and accessories. As a high-end, luxury designer, he knows how to make bags that last and look chic at the same time.

His signature "LV" design can be spotted on luggage, handbags, shoes, and lots more. These bags retail anywhere from hundreds to thousands, but are well worth the money.

If you'd like to own a Louis Vuitton but can't bear to spend thousands on a bag, look to eBay for some gently used, yet authentic handbags.

Love, Love, Love

I absolutely adore Chloe's designs, she's so unique but she almost adds a little bit of a vintage flair to her pieces. Nothing is ever really flashy or too in-your-face instead its very simple, gentle and very chic.

Her designs are adored wherever fashion can be found. You can see her designs being advertised in luxury magazines such as Vogue. If you haven't seen one before, keep your eyes open - you'll see them now!

The Well-Known Handbag

If you pay attention to handbags, you will most certainly know that Coach bags are some of the most popular, common designer bags out there.

Because their price tag is less expensive than many of the other designer bags, these have come to be a popular commodity for women who want the luxury but not the high price tag.

Marc Jacobs

Unique Handbags

I'll be the first one to admit that Marc Jacobs has some crazy advertisements out there! But he sure knows how to design clothing and accessories. His approach is unique in the utmost way and his designs can be spotted from miles away (well maybe not miles, but you get my point).

I do respect his different approach to advertising, instead of using the over-glammed, uber-stick thin models, he uses average people who are all beautiful nonetheless. Yes, his designs are medium-expensive! So be prepared for sticker-shock.

But hey, if you can afford it, someone will be extra happy this year.

Jimmy Choo

He's Not Just Shoes...

Yes, we're all aware that Jimmy Choo makes the most gorgeous stilettos out there. And yes, I'm aware that I still don't own a pair! (Guess it'll be another hint towards my holiday gifts).

But did you know that Jimmy Choo also makes handbags? It's true. And they're just as good-looking at his shoes (I didn't think it was possible either).

However, don't get too smitten right away because these bags come with a hefty price tag. Some of these Jimmy Choo bags break into the thousands, consider yourself warned.

Christian Dior

Classy & Chic

Oh Dior, he never lets us down. With luxury designs from him including bags, clothes, shoes, and accessories galore, it's hard not to love him. He's been around for so long however, that there's not much I can tell you that you don't already know.

So check out his designs and see if there's not something you think you'd love in your Christmas basket this year!

Old Faithful

Prada, or as I call it, Old Faithful, is a great brand for bags. However there are many knockoffs that look like the authentic bags, so beware.

These bags are traditionally recognized by their upside down triangle-like logo with "Prada" scrawled across it. These bags have been around for a long time (as have Coach and Louis Vuitton) and they're known for their quality and authenticity.

I used to have a Dior bag like the one in the photo but sold it. I miss my big handbag collection, but I had to make room for other 'family' things. Sigh.

It's fun to window shop, but I probably wouldn't buy one of these. I more enjoy buying purses from craft shows or small boutiques. The designs are so unique and often one of a kind.
