How to Choose the Right Wedding Dress in Your 50's

I'm not going to tell you that you shouldn't wear a white dress or that a wedding dress with a long train is inappropriate for a woman in her 50's. The truth is, you should wear the bridal gown of your dreams.

Choosing the right wedding dress in your 50's is no different that choosing one in your 20's or 30's.

You should take into consideration your body type, comfort level, and your budget limits.

Here is an elegant white mother of the bride formal evening gown. It is a great option for a wedding dress for women over 50. Choosing a formal evening gown instead of a traditional gown is a great option for anyone shopping for a bridal outfit. You have a bigger selection of dress styles and they are considerably less expensive.

They can also be worn again for other special occasions.

It depends on the circumstance, the bride's shape, finances available, and how your face looks. I got married in a midriff top, at a chapel in Reno, Nv. I never got to wear my dream ivory princess dress. So this time, the last time, I'm wearing a full A line with sleeves. It may be missing some bows and frills, but it's going to have all the romance and whimsy, AND expense that I deserved the 1rst time. I am 54.

Your selection of wedding dresses is beautiful, and I especially like the ones that aren't strapless. I know someone in her 50's who was never married and wore an off white dress. She wanted something different.

Hi, I agree with you about everything, but I would like you to consider your verbage. I am a 60 year old woman. I am not seasoned - I am not a freaking bird...chicken...pot roast... or lamb dressed as mutton. Never write the word seasoned again unless you are using it for a cooking article or you are being sarcastic. I'm sure you're well under 50, so I'll forgive you. And, I want to encourage you to continue writing because everything else you have said is good. (Leave the word in this article, but consider calling us old farts or something other than "seasoned" in your next article... hey, it's just my opinion. You don't have to listen.) Love the article overall.

I love the strapless dresses the most, although the Mermaid Lace one looks like a glamorous Hollywood gown.
