Monkey Tattoos and You
Tattoos for Monkey Fans
It may surprise a significant number of people how many fans of monkeys there are who decide to ink them on their bodies. There is just about every type of monkey tattoo you can think of, with some tattooing them on their full back, like in the first photo below, or those you have them placed in their ear, or what appears to be the favorite: tattooed on their leg.
Monkey tattoos do appear to work the best on the leg, although the arm works pretty well; especially if you want to have someone see it more.
Lower leg tattoos are ubiquitous, but you never quite get the appreciation you do with those on the upper body or upper leg, probably because people are hesitant to examine a tattoo that closely. That's the case when you don't know someone for sure.
As usual, I always prefer a tattoo without color, but some of the monkey tattoos below work pretty good in color, but the artwork to me is never as compelling for tattoos when it leaves the darker colors for more of an artistic look.
Either way, enjoy the photos of monkey tattoos included.
Monkey Tattoo on Back
Colorful Monkey Tattoos
The next couple of photos of monkey tattoos will be those done in colors, as some of you may like those, and these are among the better ones I found that were done well. They're too colorful to me, but still nice to look at.
The blue eyes of the monkey face below are offset nicely by the red face.
I thought the nose could have been done a little better.
Monkey Tattoo on Back
This is a good place for a tattoo as far as someone being able to see it easily and appreciate it, although this monkey tattoo is definitely on the wild side, with unique color combinations and images included for strong effects.
One thing that would have really set the image off nicely would have been more fierce looking eyes, as the rest of the head looked like it was meant to be ferocious looking, but the eyes look liked they're detached from the rest of the apparent emotion.
Grease Monkey or Monkey Wrench Tattoo
I'm not sure if the monkey tattoo below is supposed to be one that represents a grease monkey or a monkey wrench, but either way it's pretty cool. The monkey definitely has a naughty and mischievous look, just like monkey's do in real life.
Tattoo of Monkey Riding Goat
Most monkey tattoos have more of a dark side to them, with the exclusion of the one on the back of the woman above, which has a more maternal look. But the one below is just a lot of fun, and the goat is too funny.
I like the bloodshot eyes on the goat.
Vicious-Looking Monkey Tattoo
This is one of my favorite monkey tattoos below, as it's extremely well done and gives off that aura of an angry wild animal captured very accurately by the artist.
Detailed Monkey Tattoo
This wonderful tattoo of the monkey, or possibly, gorilla's head, is very detailed and of high quality. It's hard to tell if it was meant to include the entirety of the head and was done too large, or if it was meant to look like this.
Either way it works for me, and is extremely realistic.
Shoulder, Back Monkey Tattoo
I included this tattoo because I like it, but also to show a reason why someone needs to think about the placement of a tattoo, as it's hard to see the full effect of this one when placed on the shoulder and arm. I like to be able to see the entirety of a work of art. But maybe that's just me.
Monkey Holding Skull Tattoo
This was a pretty cool tattoo and scene. The monkey looking like its thinking is very compelling. What is weak to me is the skull, which doesn't match the quality of the monkey. I do like the way the monkey's hand is holding the skull as it appears deep in thought (the monkey that is;-).
Cool Monkey Tattoos
Although a monkey isn't a particular theme I would want inked on my body, it does offer some interesting options for those who really find them interesting.
The wide variety of monkey tattoos shown here offer up a wide number of ideas and possibilities for those looking for the primal look.
