Alpha Build of Android 5.0 Lollipop in OnePlus One

OnePlus Releases Alpha Build of Android 5.0 Lollipop with Custom ROM for OnePlus One android smartphones. The OnePlus One came with the Never Settle Philosophy. It gives much priority for the users who needed rooted phones. The product came with many solutions.

The features of OnePlus One are: powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, global 4G LTE, immersive 5.5" 1080p display with good battery life.


Downloading Custom ROM

The ROM is not available via OTA. It can be downloaded to flash on OnePlus One smartphones only. On its forum, OnePlus has provided instructions on to install the custom ROM with the advisory to "proceed at your own risk."

The company had released an alpha build of the ROM on its forums. Only be downloaded to flash OnePlus One smartphones. The forum is : Android Lollipop Alpha Rom Official 5.0

Issues in the released custom ROM

  • When you enable software keys Capacitive keys do not turn off
  • Wi-Fi might be unstable
  • By default data roaming would be ON leading to potential charges
  • Unstable camera and video
  • Clock would crash
  • Startup time would be slow on first boot
  • Rebooting phone might be required for installs

Flashing a custom ROM incurs the risk of bricking your android smartphone. So data must be backup before going for a try!
