040111 - Think your way to clarity

Updated on May 21, 2011

Mind Maps

Mind Maps are a simple and useful way of organizing your thoughts and ideas in a graphical manner to provide you with insights about the issue that you were researching that you would not have otherwise seen.  In addition to their acknowledged usefulness with regards to troubleshooting they are a great way of organizing and managing information so that you can “drill down” to the key issue that you are interested in.  Mind Maps are also a great study tool and work extremely well as a quick and easy way of taking notes while in a lecture or even itemizing the key areas and issues in preparation for a test.

Thinking Space

Thinking Space is a Mind Mapping application that can be used on Android devices (phones and tablets) and even in the free version, it is a superlative product that provides you with all the essentials that you need.

With the ability to quickly build colourful, useful and engaging maps, this is a must have application for anyone that needs to get a little bit organized in their life.  By simply tapping on the screen a new “child” node is created and while a mobile phone does not generally have the largest screen size, that lack does not feel painful with Thinking Space as it automatically centres the screen on the area that you are working on.  Another tap on the screen collapses the child node and allows you to add more relationships that are appropriate to the issue at hand and with the ability to create linkages between nodes it is easy to see how useful this application really is!

Desktop Integration

Offering full integration with the email clients installed on your Android, you can quickly email yourself a copy of your newly created map so that you can continue working on it on your desktop in applications like Freemind.

For a free application (the Pro version costs £3.00 and removes the advertising) this one basically does it all and any business person or user of Mind Mapping software would be extremely satisfied with the functionality and usefulness of the application.

For anyone who has used Mind maps in the past they will easily realize the usefulness of this product and tool that is now an App for your Android Phone.

Hi Nicole - thanks for the comments and suggestions. I've changed the image so that you can actually see a larger one now (should have thought of that myself when I uploaded it so thanks for that one!) ... will also see what I can do about a rewrite to give more detail & yes - Thinking Space is the link to the company/application that works on my Android phone.

My SciFi Life: Like Mentalist acer, this is a novel concept to me, too. Fascinating, I love the idea you've put forth here, however, I wonder if it'd be possible to: A. enlarge the picture in the first capsule of this hub, I'd love to get a clearer image of what exactly the links are between the starting idea and it's webs leading outwards... and B. to organize this hub a little better, perhaps more headings and detail between the opening and closure of this hub. I'm fascinated by the idea of a mind map application for the phone, I'm sure that will be an incredibly useful tool! Perhaps you could add a link or is it the "Thinking Space" link you've above?

Hi Mentalist - thanks for the read through and the comment. Mind Maps work - really well in fact ... now that I've got the app on my phone I expect I'll be using it extensively to plan my writing too so hopefully I'll be a lot more prolific here! :)
