101 Prettiest Pinterest Shabby Chic - My Picks
Do you enjoy DIY shabby chic or only buy finished products?
Published January 26, 2014 by Mary McShane
If you have just recently discovered shabby chic décor, Welcome!
The shabby chic look is attracting new admirers for clothing, accessories, furniture, artwork, flower arranging and interior design.
Shabby chic "anything" is very much in demand.
Shabby chic collectors do not limit themselves to one style or design. Inside this overall category of shabby chic lives several niches, but not limited to: homemade, vintage, Parisian, cottage, country, French, shaker, nostalgia and chateau.
Those who like DIY projects have no worries about the final product looking homemade. In fact, that's part of its charm. Shabby chic has lots of versatility: from rustic, vintage, elegant to professional styles.
No material or color scheme is off limits.
NOTE: There are two DIY (do it yourself) videos at the end of this hub. I love doing easy projects, however I can't sew and I'm not exceptionally crafty with paints or intricate work. But I can and have made the projects in these videos. One video is short and one is a little longer but both have very detailed instructions. I chose easy project videos to feature to encourage visitors to give DIY a try.
Feel free to pin anything here to your Pinterest boards. I have noted sources where I was able. This hub was flagged for overly promotional using Pinterest links, so I tried to include user names wherever possible so you can locate their boards that way.
Here are my top favorites from my boards and from other Pinterest users. Enjoy!
Bedrooms and Windows
Shabby chic décor fits in almost any room of the house.
You don't have to pay top dollar; you can decorate vintage style or truly shabby chic from rummage and flea market finds.
Many lovers of shabby chic are true artists in their own right. The DIY base is huge.
DIY'ers created many of the photos you see here.
Shabby chic décor only has to be
- a tad shabby,
- use attractive florals or colors and
- can be of one medium, two or several mediums, as seen here.
These lights add a romantic touch.
Boxes, Trunks and Luggage
Vintage boxes of all shapes and sizes are favorites among collectors.
Using a couple of mediums adds texture.
I don't wear hats much anymore, but
these hat boxes are gorgeous just to have for decoration!
Shabby Chic Home Décor
Shabby chic décor has become so popular that many crafters are furnishing your home and mine with their DIY projects.
If you go religiously to the flea markets and craft shows, you can get better bargains than buying at high end specialty shoppes.
Signs and Sign Collections
I love vintage lace and judging from Pinterest activity, so do pinners.
Multi-medium decanters and containers
Decanters and Containers
A favorite among collectors of shabby chic are bottles, decanters, and jars.
The vintage look is in demand, and nothing stands in the way of collecting for true shabby chic collectors.

Florals and lace, a must for any devoted shabby chic collector.
The more vintage looking, the more it will attract pinners on Pinterest.
Florals intermingled with everyday items set a nice stage for shabby chic look.
Pitchers, Pots and Cans
It is a good day when shabby chic collectors find pitchers and cannisters.
The florals are an instant attraction on this nicely detailed pitcher.
This watering can is just too pretty to use and looks very nice as a shelf decoration.
I haven't seen a French coffee pot like this before, but I loved it.
