As of right now, we are in the late 2010s, but we are at the doorstep of the cutting-edge technology of the next decade, which is the 2020s, where cars drive themselves, robots are more highly advanced than ourselves, and Virtual Reality will be a reality. Will we have the moxie to make our leap forward? I think we have more moxie than we think. People born between 1998 and 2004 are more likely to lead the revolution that comes with post-modernist technology than people born between 1982 and 1998. Whether we have the technology to send astronauts to Mars, we build the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider, or we discover a new way of storing Memory and Disk Space, that's entirely up to us. If we can't do it, then who will?
First Manned Mission To Mars in 2030
Technology to Send People to Mars.
Currently, there are orbiters and rovers on Mars right now, including one of the two rovers that came to Mars in 2004 and the Curiosity Rover. Maven is also on Mars right now, and the Indians have launched its own Mars program right now.
Currently, we have no means of going to Mars, but I think that in the 2020s, we may have a base on the moon, and we may be able to get the astronauts closer than ever before to Mars. That way, in the 2030s, they will send Terrestrial astronauts to Mars.
Currently, NASA is changing the way we design spacesuits. In the 1960s, when Man first walked on the moon, it was cumbersome, only having limited Mobility. But, if the new spacesuits fit just perfectly, without any punctures or any broken lines or any loose or rusted material, then the next step would be to test them in Zero-G environments, and that is another ball game all on its own.
If they have the technology to make the spacesuits work and can pull of Zero-G, then that means that there's one final test, and that is to evaluate them, lock the astronauts in a tiny capsule similar to a space capsule for 10 months or more, and then reevaluate them. Then, If all goes well, then they will launch inside the SpaceX system, and then be inside the International Space Station for a few weeks, and then be sent to the moon, where, hopefully, the gravitational assist from the moon will send them to Mars in 10 months.
But there are dangers. Once of them is radiation. Gamma Rays and cosmic rays threaten to destroy any living cell and can cause permanent DNA mutation. The next threat is oneself. If the behavior of one person is unhealthy, then the behavior of all of the astronauts are unhealthy, no matter how hard it is to hide them. Then there's sickness.
If you are not in a constant state of motion (Exercise for 1 hour twice a day) while in space, then your bones grow weak. I've seen documentaries where the astronauts that returned suffered massive muscle and bone loss. I will be alive when I witness man land on Mars.

High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider
The High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider is the next Collider after the Large Hadron Collider. It has the Potential to let people see to just about 1x10-42 seconds after the big bang, and discover the secrets of the universe. This particle accelerator is going to be constructed in place of the Large Hadron Collider, which discovered the Higgs Boson in 2012.
This New Particle Accelerator will also discover even more particles. More information can be found at http://hilumilhc.web.cern.ch, where the project is already underway. This machine will discover previously undiscovered particles, and this could change the way we understand things about our universe.

The first Quantum Computer was constructed in 2016. It cost more than $10 million, and it was a giant leap forward. Now, I investigated in quantum computing, and, apparently, the world's the first reprogrammable quantum computer was invented. Here's an excerpt from the Futurism Website. While several other teams and companies, including computer technology giant IBM, are in on the race towards quantum computing, all the quantum computers presented thus far can only run one type of operation—which is ironic, seeing as quantum computers can theoretically run more operations than there are atoms in the universe.
Finally, a team of researchers from the University of Maryland say they have developed the first ever fully programmable and reprogrammable quantum computer. It is made up of just five ytterbium atoms standing as quantum bits or qubits of information, which are electrically charged in a magnetic field.
“Until now, there hasn’t been any quantum-computing platform that had the capability to program new algorithms into their system. They’re usually each tailored to attack a particular algorithm,” said study lead author Shantanu Debnath, a quantum physicist and optical engineer at the University of Maryland, College Park.
It's going to take years, but in the 2020s, Quantum Computing will be almost ubiquitous on the planet. It's up to those people born from 1997-2004 to revolutionize just how quantum computing works. People born from 1993 onwards to 2004 will be able to work with Quantum Computers in the 2030s (assuming that I don't die first).
It is up to those people to work on new ways to make hard drives and processors in early 2020, because of the dying off of Moore's Law. If Computers are to continue on, then quantum computing is the way to go. Everybody knows that in the world of quantum mechanics, one particle can be in multiple places at the same time, and the rule of quantum non-locality (one quantum particle affects another, even billions of light years away). As you can see, Quantum Computers rely on quantum mechanics, and I don't see Quantum Computers in mainstream media until the late 2020s when the most powerful supercomputer of its time surpasses the computing power of a human brain.

Final Points on the Matter
In conclusion, I think the 2020s are going to be really good technology-wise. The discovery of a new particle in 2016-2030s and the post-modernization of cities, and tall buildings more than a kilometer high, and Quantum Computing are exciting things, but those three subjects that I touched on are very important because I have faith in people born from the mid-1990s through 2002.
I believe they can do a whole a lot better job than Generation Y in making new Ideas. Also, I touched on the possibility of new particles being discovered by Scientists. As Einstein Said in his famous equation "E=Mc2" The Energy is equal to the mass times the speed of light squared. As the speed increases, the energy increases. Since light is massless, then light has no trouble traveling through space. Light travels across the universe, so the universe is really nearly 27.6 billion light years in diameter.
