Note

All the tactics mentioned here are not approved of by revenue sharing websites like Hubpages. These can be used to promote your own website with affiliate links, but be careful about using the paid services to promote your own hubs.

Warning

I have personally NOT, repeat Not used any of these websites. They were brought to my attention as part of a freelance writing gig I took up for an affiliate marketer. So use caution when heading to any of these sites. I have not given any links as I am not an affiliate for any of the sites mentioned here.

Building backlinks is a great way to shoot up your page rank and gain more traffic to your website. Previously I have discussed what backlinks are and just how they help you in some detail. Here is the link to the hub on building quality backlinks.

Not all links are alike in the eyes of the search engines and you need to ensure that you get good quality backlinks to be able to take advantage of them. Once you have knowledge of what backlinking is and how it works you need to know where to build backlinks.

You can read my hub on 20 Backlinking sites to see where do follow backlinks can be built. As explained in the hub "do follow" is much better for generating higher SERP ratings than "no follow" links. It also explains why you need to keep checking your backlinks as sites often change from do follow to no follow.

Pay to get links

Now you may not always have the time to build your own backlinks. So you can use services of certain websites who will build your backlinks for you. One such site is BuildMyRank. The website offers a free trial which you can check out. If it helps boost your website traffic you could go in for a paid package as well. There are other sites out there who offer similar services.

Spin it out automatically

TheBestSpinner,is a kind of software that takes your original article and gives you a spun version. This can then be used on different article directories to get backlinks to your site. Of course there are any number of such software available but the language of the articles that they churn out automatically can be quite amusing, even when grammatically correct.

Automate Your Article Marketing

Manual submission to article directories is easy if you have five or six of them to do. However to generate a 100 such backlinks using article marketing you will need some automated help like the ArticleMarketingRobot provides. Here the software will sign up for a number of directories in your niche using your email id and then submit your articles to these directors without you having to monitor each and every site.

Make Social Media Your Traffic Source

Manual link building on sites like Facebook, twitter, Google+, Delicious, Digg, Stumble Upon and a number of other such social media websites can make your fingers ache. What if you could get your backlink to all these social media sites and more with a single click of the mouse? That is where sites like SocialAdr,come in. They allow you to set up your account information on all these social media sites and then when you want to promote a page all you do is click once and its posted on all these sites promoting traffic to your webpage.

Get all of the above in one

Sites like ArticleRanks, MagicArticleWriter, SocialMonkey, IMAutomater are the kinds that offer unique articles, spinning these unique articles to provide more content, posting backlinks to different sites and making links on social media pages with facebook and twitter integration a simple enough task. The basic memberships are usually free and allow you to get a feel of the software. Then you can decide if you really are benefiting from using the site or if you should just chalk it up to experience and let it go.

Cashmere, I just differ with you on using spun articles on different sites. Other than this I think the article is good. Yes I agree that one can use sites which automatically post hub links to other social networking sites with one click once you have linked your networking sites in there. This saves a lot of hassle and time.

      good hub. Voted up.
