Computer Expansion

Computer - Commonly Operated Machine Programmed Used For Technical Education Research.

Computer - An electronic device for storing and processing data, typically in binary form, according to instructions given to it in a variable program.

There are two basic parts of a computer:

Hardware & Software



Hardware :

The hardware are the parts of the computer itself incudingCentral Processing Unit(CPU),Keyboards,mouse,monitors etc. The other parts are called Pheripheral devices.


Central Processing Unit- The CPU is the brain of the computer.Two typical component of a CPU are Arithmetic Logic Unit(ALU) and Control Unit(CU).



Arithmetic and Logic Unit- ALU stands for Arithmetic Logic Unit. It perform arithmetic and logic operations.


Control Unit - CU stands for Control Unit. It extracts instructions from memory and decodes and executes calling on the ALU when necessary.


Keyboard - The Keyboard is used to type information into the computer or input information. The standard keyboard has 101 keys.Some special keys are referred to as a command keys. there are CTRL,ALT,SHIFT.


Mouse - It is a device that controls the movement of the cursor or pointer on a display screen.

Software

Software is a collection of computer data and instructions. There are two major categories: System software and Application software.



System software - It is responsible for controlling, integrating and managing the individual hardware components of a computer system.


Application software - It is used to accomplish specific task .
