      Well Tag cloud is good way of showing your tags to visitors as well as search engines but i don't think it replace the search option.And i never used it for any site.

      Well in my view Tag Clouds is created for usability purposes but it is also a powerful weapon for search engine optimization. because... tagging allows you to organize your internal hierarchical linking structure, flowing the link juice more strategically throughout your site. And because those link tags are textual and keyword-rich, a tag cloud is more advantageous to use in terms of SEO against traditional navigation bar.
