Blabber Meter: Unique Holiday Gift Idea

Updated on November 20, 2010

Are you looking for a unique and fun holiday gift idea? If you know someone who talks to much – or who lives and works with someone who talks too much – a Blabber Meter just might be the perfect gift for them (or for yourself).

That’s right: a Blabber Meter. If you’ve ever wondered how much money your company spends paying coworkers to run their mouths while they’re suppose to be working, place a Blabber Meter on your desk and find out!

What is a Blabber Meter?

The Blabber Meter is actually a fully functional, battery operated desk clock. However, it does more than just tell the time. It can be used to keep track of how much time and money ends up being wasted because it’s spent on mindless chatter or other useless discussions that take up valuable time at work or other locations.

When you have a Blabber Meter on your desk, you can set it to tally up the cost of time wasted on blabber, babble, drivel, droning on and more!  Simply push a button on the side of the unit and it starts tallying just how much money is being wasted by The Blabber Meter is pre-set to calculate the cost of time wasted, based on an hourly rate of five dollars per hour. It can be adjusted to calculate the total cost of babbling based on the number of people (up to 99) drawn into time wasting discussion events.

Great Funny Gift Idea

The Blabber Meter makes an ideal novelty item choice for an office gift exchange or “Dirty Santa” event, or to give to a friend, family member, co-worker, or even boss who will see the humor of this type of item. It’s one of those gifts that’s funny, but also rings true. While the gift may bring a chuckle, the person who receives it just might be able to make a point by using it!

The next time you’re shopping for a co-worker who’s plagued by chatty peers or a friend or family member who complains about being around people who run their mouths excessively, you just might want to pick up a Blabber Meter. Whether the recipient actually uses the meter or not, it’s sure to draw a smile and a few laughs. You just might be the talk of the party if you wrap up a Blabber Meter or two to share with others!
