Buy A Digital Camera For Mothers Day Online
Well my poor mother has been using her digital camera for around over 6 years now, a Panasonic, a wretched looking block, which I'm sure is a collectible by now, and she has always been a tech head, crazy about phones etc but never had the money, or drive to buy a digital camera again, thinking the one she has now will do.
I on the other hand, think it should be binned. With mothers day around the corner, here in Ireland it's always the 4Th Sunday In lent, been the 14Th of march this year, or the 2ND Sunday of May in the USA which is a good while away, I've decided to purchase a digital camera on line for her, well, I already have it, just came 2 days ago, and like a child I've been playing around with it, happy days.
So I have missed the last 3 Mothers days since I was living abroad, so I have a lot of catching up to do, and I know a new digital camera will make her day, and flowers and a bottle of wine of course, but like me, she'll be like a child a Christmas and go snap happy. So I looked at a lot of cameras before I chose one, as holy moley there are tons, and my solution was pick the one easiest to use, not that anything complicated would be too much for her, just some cameras are a bit much over the top with gadgets, I'm sure you know what I mean.
My Own Camera
My own personal cameras, I have 2, are a Canon EOS 55 SLR manual camera I bought back in 2000, and It's my baby. I love film, especially black and white and Have my own bathroom darkroom where I develop my own, just for relaxation and as a hobby, plus if your good, the quality can be a bigger reward.
My other camera is a Canon Power Shot SD750 I bought in 2008, a great little camera, well for me any way, and takes great photos, even though it's only a 7.1 pixel. I love the zoom on it, never blurrs at full zoom when snapping, and for me, does a great job.
My Mothers Day Gift
So with Mothers day in 2 weekends I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 10.1 MP Digital Camera, a neat little camera with a great zoom, yes, I love zooms lol. Its a nice size, fits well in pockets, 10.1 mega-pixels, and has a 12x MEGA optical image-stabilized zoom, great stuff, and also with this zoom, you can use it when on video mode, something other cameras don't allow you to do, so much fun, It's also a quite zoom which I like, no robocop sound coming from it.
The great thing is it wasn't too expensive, for it's price range it's the perfect point and shoot, takes great photos, great video, nice zoom, not complicated and I know my mother will love it. The hard part now is trying to get me to stop using it, put it back in the box and wrap it up, but, not yet.
Also during my research I looked at waterproof digital camera, due to the fact It rains a lot here in Ireland, an awful lot, and was amazed how far technology has come, unreal. digital cameras now for surfing, swimming or just plain stuck in a monsoon, but I chose the camera I thought suited my mother, and some of the waterproof digital cameras looks were awful, though the Pentax looked pretty cool. It's something I will look into now for my next trip.
