Creating a new SQL Server Database

Updated on January 17, 2016

Step 1: Connect with SQL Server Management Studio

Please refer to my hub "Getting connected with SQL Server Management Studio before proceeding.

Step 2: Open the "New Database" wizard

Right click the "Database" folder in your SQL Server Management Studio Object Explorer.

This will open the "New Database" wizard.

In the "Database Name" field (highlighted in yellow), enter a meaningful database name. For my example, I chose - TestDB.

Click "OK"

Step 3: Verify the creation of your database

Expand the [+] sign on the "Databases" folder in your Object Explorer.

You should see your newly created database name.
