Darth Vader alarm clock review

Updated on August 22, 2014

Darth Vader Alarm Clock

Who would have thought that 25 years ago we would be seeing Darth Vader alarm clock for sale, and that when I stood in line to see a new film called Star Wars, it would be the start of a world wide brand. A brand that would include such things as the Darth Vader Alarm Clock and touch many counties in the world, have millions of loyal followers and give birth to a world wide industry, with a mass of merchandise.

Star Wars has come a long way indeed since I stood in the rain as a boy. We now see the Star Wars saga played out in all its glory, star wars merchandise in all shapes and sizes from cups to hats. Other brands have also taken a slice of the Star Wars brand and we see some stunning Lego Star Wars Sets on sale in almost every toyshop on the high street.

I couldn't resist making a video about this great item, take a look at my video review of the Lego Star Wars Darth Vader alarm clock

Great ift for any Star Wars Lego fan
Great ift for any Star Wars Lego fan

I say this from an envious perspective, as a boy back in the day when Star Wars was first launched, I would have given my right arm for a set of ‘Star wars Lego star destroyer’ or a ‘Star Wars Lego Death Star’.

More on these to follow, but today I wanted to highlight the ‘Darth Vader Alarm Clock’. Being a fan of fantasy and growing up with Star Wars, I would love one of these clocks in my studio today and can only imagine what the young Star Wars fan today thinks of these great clocks.

The Darth Vader Alarm Clock stands at an impressive 24cm (H) x 13cm (W) x 9cm (D) and Requires 2 x AAA batteries. A big enough size to look great on the bedside cabinet of any young Star Wars fan.

The large display face makes it easy to tell the time and illuminates by pressing the head down, a great touch!

The Darth Vader clock is in the desticntive Vader black an imposing iconic figure dressed in his well known and well loved black garb. The Darth Vader clock is officially licensed by George Lucas and Lego so you can expect a quality product. One of the great aspects of this star wars clock is the snooze and backlight function, which is activated by pushing down on his iconic behelmeted head. The Darth Vader clock even comes with the ability to move his arms and legs.....impressive, most impressive.

Build Quality is second to none for what is essentially a novelty clock but considering the George Lucas and Lego connections, you would expect nothing less. Made from sturdy black plastic, all in black, the Darth Vader clock is certainly one to have.

Functionality

  • Digital clock with alarm feature
  • 5 minute snooze feature by pressing head down
  • Illuminate the clock face by pressing head down
