Droid Razr Review

Updated on March 9, 2012

The Droid Razr 4G is the most powerful and versatile smart phone on the market. This phone can handle both personal and business applications. It has the incredible 4G speeds. This might just be the best phone Motorola has ever introduced. The Razr 4G gives new meaning to the word powerhouse.

The phone has many great features packed inside the Kevlar case. It is rugged and durable. If you are contemplating a new phone then my Droid Razr 4G Review is something that you can not miss.

My Droid Razr 4G Review

  • Price: MSRP $799 but you can get upgrade discounts and contract discounts.

  • Year Released: 2011

  • OS: Gingerbread (Android 2.3)

  • Service Provider: Verizon; hopefully other providers get access

  • Memory: 16GB Internal Memory, expandable with a 16GB Mini-SD Card

  • Screen: 4:3 inch multi touch screen

  • Resolution: 960 X 540

  • Camera: 1.3 MP Front and 8MP rear cameras

  • Battery Life: 12.5 hours talk time

  • Connectivity: Wireless N, WiFi, USB

  • Processor: Dual Core 1.2GHZ

  • Dimensions: 4.9X2.6X0.3

  • Weight: 4.8 oz

Motorola has designed a phone that will stay at the top of its class for many years to come. With the Droid Razr 4G they have redesigned the Razr to include a touch screen, which is more versatile then the traditional flip phone design. The best part of the whole phone is the operating system. By including the Android 2.3 operating system they give their customers a huge selection of applications at their fingertips.

Even though the phone is made from Kevlar and the screen is Gorilla Glass. The phone is far from being bulletproof. However with the water resistant coating, it could very well be the first smart phone that does not require a case. With the coating spilling your coffee on the phone will not render it inoperable.

  • The Display: The display is large (4.3 inches). It is super clear and bright.

  • Durable; The Droid Razr 4G is the most durable smart phone on the market

  • Processing Speed: It has a dual core 1.2 ghz processer. So that says enough

  • Camera: The camera produces tons more than anyone can expect. The 8MP camera includes zoom and exposure control. If your hand is shaky do not fear, it has stability assist.

  • Battery: If you are used to swapping out the battery, your not going to enjoy this. The battery is not user replaceable.

  • Poor Battery Life: It is is a smart phone. If you are running on 4G you may get about 8 or 9 hours out of the battery. If you set it up for the slower 3G then you could double the battery life. As with any other smart phone the more you use it, the sooner your going to need to charge it.

  • Size: The phone is big. If you have small hands or enjoy just slipping the phone into your pocket the size can be an issue.

If you are looking for a great phone, one that is versatile and durable then this phone might be the one you are looking for. The Motorola Droid Razr 4G from Verizon Wireless will be the most sought after smart phone for 2012. Be the first of your friends to get one.

I have seen this phone in action. I am not sure if they got it right mainly because in the area that I live we only have 3G. But, a town over there is 4G, so it shouldn't be long before the 4G shows up here.

Really like this. Simple and to the point. Like the Pros and Cons section. Still waiting for Verizon to get it right with a 4G phone. Maybe with an iPhone? I worked there for a couple years and just wasn't wooed by any of their 4G devices.
