How to Fix Kaspersky Error Updating Component Klava?

You are using the Kaspersky Antivirus software. However, you are always being told that your database is out of date. Even after it has just updated with seemingly no errors. In detailed update report, You are getting information "Not all components were updated", and then there are several components that were not updated. Like: KLAVA, PAS5, APU, WMUF, EMU, KDB…etc.

You tried updating Kaspersky software again, but still the same problem occurs.

There are 3 ways to fix this error:

  1. Change the Kaspersky Lab’s update server.
  2. Update offline kaspersky, then update with default Kaspersky Lab’s update server.
  3. Remove and reinstall Kaspersky.

For a smooth update experience, be sure to check that your computer have:

  • An internet connection: The Internet connection is available by opening "kaspersky.com" in Internet Explorer browser.
  • The system date is set up correctly on your computer.

Solution 1: Change the Kaspersky Lab’s update server.

How to change an update source in Kaspersky?

1. Kaspersky Antivirus/ Kaspersky Internet Security/ Kaspersky Total

The steps taken to change:

  • Open Kaspersky software, click on the 'Settings' link.
  • In the Settings window, select the 'Additional' tab and click on the ‘Update’ button.
  • In the “Update Settings” dialog box, choose "Select update source"
  • Press the Add button, then enter 'the new update servers'. Please see below the list of addresses of Kaspersky Lab servers.
  • Click OK button to save the settings.
  • Change the position of the update source
  • It is important that the new update source is located on top while the Kaspersky Lab's update servers are at the bottom.
  • Left click on new update source and click Up button.
  • Return to the main interface of Kaspersky and click Update button => Click “Run update” button. Please wait until the update is complete and check the database.

2. Kaspersky Pure

  • Open Kaspersky Pure
  • Click the Setting link (upper – right on the main program window)
  • In the Settings window go to the Update tab, click “Update source” button.
  • In the Update window, uncheck “Kaspersky Lab update server”, click Add button.
  • Press the Add button, then enter 'the new update servers'. Please see below the list of addresses of Kaspersky Lab servers.
  • Click OK button.
  • Return to the main interface of Kaspersky Pure and run update again.

3. Kaspersky Small Office Security (KSOS)

  • Open Kaspersky Small Office Security
  • Click the Setting link (KSOS 3: upper-right, KSOS 4: below - right)
  • Click on the Update button and click “Update source” button.
  • In the Update window, click the Add button.
  • Press the Add button, then enter 'the new update servers'. Please see below the list of Kaspersky Update Servers. Click OK button.
  • Return to the main interface of KSOS and run update again.

4. Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business (KESB)

  • Open Kaspersky Endpoint Security.
  • Click Setting tab, choose update.
  • Click the “Update source” button.
  • Press the ‘Add’ button, then enter 'the new update servers' from the list of Kaspersky Update Server.
  • Click OK, then update again.

5. Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac/ Kaspersky Internet Security for Android

Can not change the default update source. You can use the third solution to fix error.

Solution 2: Update Kaspersky from a local folder (Offline update). Then update with default Kaspersky Lab’s update server.


Step #1: Update Kaspersky from a local folder (Offline update)

You must download the database package of Kaspersky. Then, configure updates of Kaspersky from the Updates folder into which the updates were downloaded.

Step #2: Update with default Kaspersky Lab’s update server.

After update Kaspersky from a local folder, you have to change the Update Source to the default Kaspersky Lab’s update server (uncheck the Manual update source from the list). Click update again.

Please wait till the update finished up to 100%. Then you check the database up to date.

Solution 3: Remove and reinstall Kaspersky

Important

Uninstall Kaspersky with removal tool will remove all the components related to Kaspersky, including information about copyright you are using.
