How to Make a Facebook Group

Step - by - Step Instructions

  1. Open up your Facebook Homepage

  3. Click on the 'Create Group' link
  4. Now look on the top of this page and click 'Create New Group'

Think carefully about this name - I would advise you make it as short as you can while also letting the search engines online know what it is about. Use Keywords so when people use Facebook Groups Search they can find you.

  1. Add members to the Group here from your 'Friends' list.
  2. Set your Privacy Settings too.
  3. Click 'Create'

You Have Now Created a Group on Facebook

How To Edit

  1. Go to the top right hand side of your Group Page.
  2. Click on 'Edit Group Settings'

It is important that you fill in the details with Keywords in mind. If you want people to join this Facebook Group you will need to include keywords so that your group comes up in the Facebook Groups Search engines.

Group Description is Important

  1. Add a description of what this group is about. Think about what you would type in to the search engine if you were looking for it.
  2. Add relevant tags. These are shorter sentences or just one word descriptions separated by a comma.
  3. Create a new email account just for your new group.
  4. Add that email address here.
  5. Finally add an engaging photo to go on the top of your Facebook Homepage Group.

How To Create a Facebook Group

Easy step by step instructions so you can create your own Facebook group. You can attract like minded people to your favourite interests and use it as a marketing tool to advertise a business. The advantage to this is that you get to be the boss of the Group that you have set up.

You are the creator and you make the rules. It is up to you who can join and what they can post. You are in control as the Moderator. I would recommend that you keep one interest for each group.

How to Join Others

If you want to join most of these groups you just have to click on the 'Join' button on the top right of their Homepage. Some Facebook groups are closed to new members but there is usually lots more groups on any given subject. You can then join any of these groups you wish to and participate in the topic discussions with like minded people.

Do a search by typing in the hobby or interest you wish to join with other people who share this interest. Could be Facebook games, painting, writing or fishing.

Good refresher for me. I am about to create a group for the community that we have our house in. For some reason the extremely high HOA fees we pay to the property management company are not enough to include a message board on the multiple websites that they host 'for us'.....

Hello everyone and thanks for reading and your comments.

robert koech: Facebook does this when they think you have sent too many friend requests at a time. They block you for a few days and then you can send more requests.

I don't know whether you know this video:

It is a Soutpark-episode (in fact only some scenes from the episode - I haven't find the 2 part-long video) about facebook, and it is hilarious!

It tells us the truth - I tell you this even if I love FB and farmville :)
