Hp’s Office Jet Pro X Printers Twice the Speed, Half the Cost

Updated on June 26, 2018

The OfficeJet Pro X Lineup From HP

HP’s OfficeJet Pro X printers are even more versatile and cost-effective than many laser printers, producing lab-quality photo prints, transparencies, and envelopes without issue, and at speeds that rival the best lasers.

Traditionally, the knock on inkjet printers as office devices has been their slow speed, but that’s not an issue with HP’s OfficeJet Pro X lineup. Powered by HP PageWide Technology, these inkjets can crank out documents at up to 70ppm (pages per minute), about double the speed of many comparably-priced laser printers.

Half The Cost

Using original HP inks will allow you to save up to 50% on printing costs when compared to a color laser. HP’s 970XL Black cartridge, for example, yields an astounding 9,200 pages. That means added cost-effectiveness, fewer trips to the supply closet and less downtime while you shut down the printer and replace cartridges. The OfficeJet Pro X printers use four ink cartridges (Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow) for crisp, brilliant color. Both high-yield cartridges (typically priced around $120 a cartridge) and standard cartridges (priced around $75) are available.

The OfficeJet Pro X576dw, X476dw, and X476dn deliver allin-one capabilities: print, copy, scan, and fax. The 4-in-1 functionality lets you be more productive, because you won’t have to switch between devices for your paper tasks. You can easily manage and control the all-in-one printer from the 4.3-inch touchscreen, which supports intuitive swipe gestures. The touchscreen also lets you access HP business apps, so right from the panel you can access Web content and print documents stored in the cloud.

Duplexing & Networking

The “d” in the product title means that the OfficeJet Pro X printer supports automatic duplexing (printing on both sides), which helps saves paper. Networking is also built into every model: Those units with a “w” offer support for wireless and wired connectivity, while “n” models connect via an Ethernet cable.

HP OfficeJet Pro X printers feature a 500-sheet main paper tray and they also offer an optional additional 500-sheet input tray to double the printer’s capacity. The flagship OfficeJet Pro X576dw offers three trays, including one that supports legal, executive, #10 envelopes, and small paper sizes. The OfficeJet Pro series can utilize nearly all paper types, even specialty papers, such as that used for matte brochures, greeting cards, and glossy photos.

The Office Jet Pro X576dw is a multifunction (print, copy, scan, and fax) business-class inkjet that can produce up to 70 pages per minute. It also offers automatic duplexing and wireless network capabilities that save paper and make setup a breeze.

HP ePrint lets you print from your smartphone or tablet, and allows you to send send documents to your office printer from remote locations, whether that’s across the room or across the country. For instance, you can email a document directly to the OfficeJet Pro X series printer and have it already printed when you return. The HP ePrint app also helps you find public printer locations, so you can send print jobs to a nearby printer when you’re on the road. HP ePrint is available on all OfficeJet Pro X printers.
