Step 1. Insert the Dvd you want to rip or copy to your computer's Hard drive.
Step 1.5. Go to Start -> My computer. Right click the DVD drive which you inserted you DVD and select properties from the drop down menu. A new window will open. What we want from this window is the 'Used Space' (Size of DVD). Check to make sure that you hard drive has enough free space to hold the DVD (more than the 'Used Space').
Step 2. If you have your computer set to auto play (when you enter a DVD/CD/Flash drive etc, a window pops up) go to the step 3 and skip step 4 and continue from step 5. If auto play is not enabled, skip step 3 and go to step 4 and continue to step 5.
Step 3. Select 'Open to view folders using windows explorer ' when the auto play window pops up (scroll down to the bottom of the pop up to find this option). When you select this, it will show you the files located on the DVD.
Step 4. Go to Start -> My Computer. Right click the drive in which you inserted the DVD. Then select 'Explore'. This will show you the files located on the DVD.
NB. Enable auto play by right clicking the DVD drive and selecting 'auto play'.
Step 5. When you are exploring the DVD you should see two folders: AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS.
Step 6. Drag or copy and paste these two folders to where you want to store the DVD on you hard drive. It might take a while to transfer.

How to watch the copied DVD
Step 1. Open the VIDEO_TS folder.
Step 2. Double click a file name VIDEO_TS in that folder. There is sometimes two of them but only one will show the DVD. Try both if the first one does not work.
The same software which you used to watch DVDs that were inserted into you drive will now open to play the file.
