2 Simple Ways To Take A Screenshot On A MacBook Pro
Everyone (including myself) has struggled (or is struggling) with learning about how to take a screenshot whenever they have a Macbook Pro. This simple and easy tutorial will show you the basics of how to achieve the simple task of taking a screenshot of his or her own screen@
Personally, whenever I first used a Macbook, I had no idea where to start. I was searching on the internet about different possible ways to take a screenshot, and, luckily, I learned two different methods. So hopefully, this makes it easier for you.
How To Take A Screenshot Of Your Whole Screen:
There are two ways to take a screenshot. First, there is the screenshot of the whole screen, without any cropping or taking a specific picture of an area.
On your keyboard, you will need to use the following buttons:
- Command (bottom left half of the keyboard, next to the space button- the longest button on the keyboard)
- "Shift" Button - you can either use the shift button on the right or on the left, but it is much easier to use the one on the left. You can locate the left "Shift" button by looking next to the "fn" and "caps lock" buttons."
- Number "3" - You can see this on the second row of buttons on your keyboard.
After you have located all of these necessary keys, put your finger on every single key, and press on them all at the same time. You will then here a sound like it is taking a picture. And there you go, you have taken a picture of your whole screen! Congrats!
How To Take A Screenshot Of A Specific Area:
If you want to take a picture of a specific part on your screen, there is an easy way to take them, without going to an application, where you then have to crop the screenshot manually. Forget about doing that. You only need 3 buttons for this easy and simple task.
This task is very similar to the very first way to take a screenshot of the whole screen, except you will need to use one different key.
Keys you will need:
- Number 4
After you have located these three keys, just press them all at once, and release. It will show you a different cursor that looks like a small grid with numbers on the side of it. That will be a tool where you can then choose the area you want to take a screenshot of. Use your mouse and left-click and drag it until you have chosen the desired screenshot. Do not release until you have done what you wanted or else you will have to start over with pressing the keys.
Where To Locate Your Screenshots:
After you have taken the screenshots, you might be wondering where you can find those pictures you have been taking.
All you have to do is look at your desktop. There will be pictures there and those are your screenshots.
Or, you can go to go to 'Finder', which is the place where you can find all of your documents, and click on the 'Desktop' tab. Your screenshots should be located there.
