How To Use The Undo Send Function In gmail?
Google is more than a search engine. One of the other free tools Google offers its users is Gmail.
Gmail is Google’s free email service, which comes with an easy way to keep all your conversations organized, a built in chat named “talk”, a mail search box, the possibility of seeing which of your contacts are online, and most recently the all new “Undo Send.”
What is Undo Send?
I am sure this happened to you before. I cannot be the only one! Did you ever send an email to the wrong person? Or perhaps forgot to include some important details or information? Did you simply change your mind right after you pressed the Send button?
Google created the Undo Send button which will let you prevent embarrassing mishaps.
Now the Undo Send function is not activated by default, you will need to enable it, but do not worry, it is simple, and I will show you how to do it step by step.
1- Log on to your Gmail account, and click the “settings” tab, which is located on the top right hand corner.
2- The next screen will look something like the image below. Please click on “labs”
3- Now that you are seeing the “labs” tab you will need to scroll down until you see the “Undo Send” block, see the picture below for an idea of how this looks like. As you can see the “Disable” box is checked. All you need to do now is check the “Enable” box, and click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.
4- Now all you have to do is test to make sure you know how to use this function for when an emergency arises.
5- You may send a message to yourself, your spouse, or a friend who would not mind receiving an email from you. So go ahead and make a quick email, and press send!
6- Everything looks like usual. You receive the message saying your message has been sent, but now you can also see the “Undo Send” button. Look at the image below.
7- Click the “Undo Send” button. And you are done. Gmail will display a confirmation returning you to the email as a draft. I will look something like the image below!
8- That was easy, and I hope useful as well!
