Ultrasn0w unlock is a software solution for unlocking iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G. It does not work with iPhone 5 and 6, but is still useful when you want to unlock old basebands and old iPhones.

Below is a list of iPhone versions and basebands supported by Ultrasn0w unlock:

iPhone 4

  • 01.59.00

iPhone 3GS and 3G

  • 04.26.08
  • 05.11.07
  • 05.12.01
  • 05.13.01
  • 05.13.04
  • 06.15.00

For the following iPhone unlocking illustration, I will use iPhone 3GS running iPhone firmware IOS 6.0 with baseband 05.16.07. Make sure to also have a copy of IOS 6.0 downloaded and saved in your computer.

NOTE:

The procedure to unlock iPhone 3GS via Ultrasnow is usually straightforward but may occasionally turn messy when run in IOS 6.The listed basebands: 05.16.07, 05.16.05, 05.16.02, 05.16.01, cannot be unlocked straight from the box using Ultrasn0w.

They must first get upgraded to the infamous iPad baseband 06.15.00 and later downgraded to baseband 05.13.04. As you probably are aware, flashing your iPhone to iPad baseband messes up GPS services and should not be your baseband of choice.

In order to unlock your iPhone using Ultrasn0w you will have to:

  • Jailbreak your iPhone
  • Flash iPhone baseband 05.16.07 to iPad baseband 06.15.00
  • Downgrade baseband 06.15.00 to baseband 05.13.04
