How to Boost Performance of Your Computer

We usually get our vehicles serviced and keep checking their engine oil and breaks time to time. This is realty a good practice but do you know in the same way our computers need a regular maintenance to maintain their best performance for a long time. Performing some tasks to boost performance of your computer may help you to get best output from it. Always you do not need a technician to do this. You can do it yourself by spending 30-40 minutes after a regular period of time. Here is the check list of tasks you can perform to boost performance of your computer and how can you do them.

Disk clean up

Disk clean up on regular basis helps a lot to boost the performance on a computer. To perform disk clean up you simply need to right click on any drive and then properties. In properties menu you will find Disk clean up button. Mostly disk clean-up is required for Drive C: because temporary files are mostly accumulated on this drive.

Uninstalling unwanted programs time to time

Sometimes we install a program just for one-time use and then forget that it is still on our computer. All such programs not only occupy space on the hard disk but they also keep consuming computer resources if they run in the background. You can check the list of installed applications on your computer by going to add remove programs in the control panel and thus you can remove unwanted programs from here only. You simply need to select the program and then click on uninstall.

By clearing cookies and resetting browsers

Our browsers stores a lot from our browsing behavior. By the time there is a bundle of temporary files and cookies accumulated by our web browsers. This makes it must to clear data from our browsers time to time. To do this you should reset your browsers time to time before resetting a browser keep in mind that it will also clear all the bookmarks and saved passwords. However, resetting the browser helps a lot in boosting performance over the internet but if you want you can also clear caches and history only this will keep your saved settings safe.

Remove duplicate files:

Do you know sometimes files do not store on a single location they keep getting duplicated when we download them again and again and when we copy them to multiple locations. To get rid of duplicate files either you need to delete duplicates manually or you can use duplicate file fixer tool from Systweak software to delete duplicate files. This tool can find duplicates on the basis of content and works really great. Removing duplicates not only helps in boosting speed of computer but it also helps in making more memory on the device.

Keeping operating system and antivirus up to date

Operating system or software developers keep releasing updates time to time which helps in boosting speed of your system. In updates developers fix the bugs reported by the users and sometimes they also release an update which takes a less amount of memory on the disk.

Apart from all this you can also go for the hardware clean-up of your system time to time sometimes. Because of dust CPU fan cannot work properly which results in overheating. Physical cleaning is not required very frequently. Given tips and tricks for regular maintenance will make use of computer smoother for you for a long time.

      Nice hub....but I would suggest shifting the OS and antivirus section to the top or at least it should be the second section as this is very important. You should also mention about not downloading unknown softwares or using torrents and upgrading the systems hardware from time to time
