Changing the Windows XP Start Menu and Home Screen

To some, the XP home screen can be simple, yet annoying. Windows Vista has an innovative look to it, as well as useful gadgets on the home screen. Would you like to have a Windows Vista home screen? What about the start menu? The Windows XP start menu is very bland. The Windows Vista start menu offers more colors and better options, making the start menu smaller, yet more organized for computers that host a lot of files.

To change your start menu, simply download the Vista Start Menu software. This software replaces the XP start menu and replaces it with a Windows Vista start menu. The Vista start menu makes it easier to host more files without having the start menu take over the screen, as that of the Windows XP start menu.

Changing the XP Home Screen to Windows Vista

This doesn't require any software downloads. All that is need is to download the Windows Vista wallpaper and place it on your computer's background. This will then give the look and feel of a Windows Vista device while keeping the guaranteed operation of a Windows XP device.

Here are a couple of Windows Vista backgrounds that are good for Windows XP computers.

Windows Vista Sounds

There is free software out there that allows you to change the login/logoff sounds of your XP device. The software will change the sounds you hear on your Windows XP to the sounds of those that you will hear on a Windows Vista O.S. Its called Vista to XP Sounds Theme 1. It exchanges your Windows XP sound theme to those of Windows Vista.

The software can not be installed manually by the owner of the computer. Its automatically installed to the computer and replaces the sound themes of the computer, such as the logging in, shutting down, and logging off sounds.

There are more themes out there that allow you to change your sound theme on your xp computer. Some of these things cost money, others can be found on other websites free. Careful for other websites though. Some websites hosting Vista to Xp sound themes host malicious coding so use trusted websites only.

Download FireFox

Firefox has many logos for its web browser which gives it that new Vista look. Its also a great web browser for security reasons. This product has thousands of add-ons that you can put on your web browser to have the safest internet surfing experience. There are some problems with this web browser such as downloading files though. When downloading files, it may say the browser is missing some files, but other than that, it's a great investment, seeing that it is free.

Firefox can be used for any computer, whether Linux, Mac, or Windows. Firefox protects your computer in ways that Internet Explorer or any other web browser can't. So while enjoying the look of the web browser, know that you are protected against the vast world of the internet and the malicious files spreading.

Download Windows Aero Cursors

Aero Cursors lets you change your mouse to bring a better look to your computer. These cursors are from the Windows Vista operating system and allows you to use it on your Windows XP operating system.

There aren't any instructions included within this file. Its not that hard to install.
