How to remove a Unity 3D widget from Mac Dashboard?

Updated on February 8, 2013

I used the Unity 3D game engine on my Mac. Once I built a Unity widget, which didn't work well. Annoyingly, the Unity widget stays on my Dashboard since. Even worse, I have noticed a bird chirping noise when using my Mac since.

Finally, I find the way to remove the Unity widget from the Dashboard.

  1. Click the middle key on your Mac mouse, which brings the Dashboard widgets.
  2. Click the add (+) button in the lower-left corner of the screen, and then click 'Manage widgets' button to enter the widget browser (as shown in the figure). The widget browser displays all widgets on your Mac.
  3. Find the unwanted Unity 3D widget and uncheck the checkbox.
  4. Close the widget browser and quit Dashboard.
