How to use twitter effectively
Twitter is the global network that allows users to communicate through messages that are limited to 140 characters. Twitter has become a big success because it allows anyone to publish information about themselves and about the topics they are passionate about.
Starting an account on twitter is a very simple process. However, for new users it is a little difficult to imagine what to do after you account has been created.
Twitter interface is not the easiest to understand for new users, so it is normal that there is some confusion when starting to use the service.
Discovering Friends
The first step in using Twitter is discovering your friends and other people that you would like to keep in contact.
Twitter has a search box that will allow you to find any person that is already using twitter to send messages. You can just search for your friends and you will see if they are already part of the service and would like to connect to you.
With twitter you can also connect to people that you may not know personally, but that you have interest on. For example, you can search for account of famous users. Typically people connect to singers or actors that they would like to follow. Athletes are also well represented on twitter, so you can also befriend them if you want.
Sending Updates
The best way to find like minded people is to send updates on the things you like. The best way to get useful information from twitter is to provide updates that are useful. For example, if you like cooking, you can send information about recipes and related topics.
As you continue to send more information, people will find you tweets using the search interface and request to follow you.

Using twitter is fun and useful. You can connect with people that are like minded. It just take some initial effort, but after you get used, it is a lot of fun.
