Humor From Around the World

Mona writes a column for Enrich Magazine which is distributed in five countries. She is interested in learning as she writes.

My Ylvis Obsession

I never really liked their biggest hit, "What Does the Fox Say," but Ylvis, a Norwegian comedy group, has done many things that are a lot funnier in their own hit TV program in their country. Here is one sample of their songs which makes me laugh a lot harder than their What Does the Fox Say hit. It's called, Someone Like Me.

Malaysian Humor -- Spoof on Job Interview

A job interview is something we will all go through in our lives. This Malaysian video looks at its funny side.

How Not to Handle a Job Interview

California Girls -- Filipino Food

California Girls could never sound the same to me after this video. Even if it's a serious song, I end up laughing because the video comes to mind. Filipinos love to eat, and food is a strong cultural part of us. We always feed visitors to our home, even if it means killing the chicken in the back yard to do so. Hope you like this.

Laurie and Fry and America

I love Laurie and Fry, even if their videos are very old. One of my favorites is their song, America. Hope you like it, too.

French Ballet With a Towel

I have saved the best for last. Hope you agree that it's funny.

What is laughter?

Laughter is an international language that we all take for granted. I figure you can have world peace in one of two ways. First, give them all sleeping pills so they have nothing to fight about. Second, fill them with laughing gas.

Jean Houston said, "At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities."

But Maya Angelou said it better when she said, "I don't trust anyone who doesn't laugh."

Me neither.

Thank you Perspycacious, not just for your comment about humor, but of the value of spreading it:)

Any time someone adds humor to this world, they have done the world a favor. Repeating it works too.

You are so right, Dolores Monet. Also, laughter is a universal language:)

Funny is funny anywhere. Not long ago we were reading jokes from other countries and cultures. Of course we missed some of the humor because we didn't know what they were talking about. But most of the jokes were hilarious.

If we can laugh together, we can overcome anything. Funny stuff here. I think I like the French towel ballet the best.

Thanks Quildon, we call coconut water buko juice, and it's very healthy for the gastro intestinal system, aside from being very delicious and thirst quenching:).

Blonde Logic, the French video is really a blast:). You must visit the Philippines. Everything is cheap here and you can shop to death, aside from the beautiful beaches and the clubs. Your dollars will stretch a long way in the Philippines. A lot of visitors go to Airbnb if they want to save on hotel fee, and the places are pretty good.

That was fun. I enjoyed the French ballet video the most.

I write over on Bubblews and have many connections from the Philippines. I love the food posts they put up on that site. When reading them I can tell how much they love their cuisine, and now I have put a visit to the Philippines on my bucket list.

I think food and humor are universal.

I too believe in the healing that laughter brings. The food video was scrumptious. I was surprised to see the coconuts. In Trinidad we drink the water like that straight from the nut. I'm hungry now. Great hub!

That was fun, Mona. Proving again that we are not that different after all...we all laugh, we all cry, we all love, and we can all be hurt. Similarities to build on, hopefully.

I believe in the impact of laughter to change things for the better. I like the last two but perhaps I'll choose the ballet. They are all funny. Thank you.
