Chat Rooms are not like real life.

If you see a beautiful girl in a bar there are ways to tell what she's potentially like by simply observing her from a distance.

However in an Internet Chat Room you don't have that visual stimulus to guide you and therefore men would consider that a woman's name means everything about her in terms of that initial impression.

Men read a lot into a screen name and how it is composed. Unfortunately, a lot of men can be cyber pervs and therefore have more adult thoughts on their brain when looking through usernames.

Are you looking to meet guys online? Maybe this article could help you get more male attention in chat rooms and meet guys in chat rooms?

What men really think about Women’s Chat Room Screen Names?

This article lists common chatroom names and parts of names while detailing what many guys think about them. Unfortunately this list might seem brutal to some of you reading this.

Many women’s chat room profiles have certain constituent parts such as sweetbritney. Below will look at sections of the name and concentrate on the descriptive factor of the chat room profile name- sweet.

Any name followed by "12345" etc

Example sharron12345

If you simply follow a regular name with some random numbers a man actually thinks that you're not intelligent enough to choose a unique screen name. To a man this is actually considered a good thing as a man in an internet chat room is likely to be intimidated by a strong intelligent woman.

Any name with "Baby"

Example Nikkibaby

To a woman including the term "baby" within her chat room profile name would be a consideration that she's cute and girly.

A man however see's the term "baby" as a sign of being immature and child like and therefore craving lots of attention. Possessive men will be drawn to such a screen name as a result.

The term "baby" has evolved further with the use of terms such as "babi" and "babbii" which indicate the person to be even more immature, childlike and likely to talk strangely too. (Goo goo gah gah baby speak!)

A name with a birthdate in it such as 1983

Example Jodie1983

A man reads a lot into a birthdates entered on a username and associates it in mature women of a sign that they realise that their years are advancing and therefore they may be more open minded to things they have missed in life.

A man might consider a woman in her late 20's and 30's to be available and looking for a partner as generally that is the time in life people tend to settle down.

Anything with the term "Bi"

Example Bigirl23

To a man the term "Bi" suggests a woman is very open with her sexuality and promiscuous. This draws the cyber perv to message such a username. Avoid this prefix if you do not want to be pestered in a chatroom environment.

Anything with the term "69"

Example Nikki69

A man see's the term "69" not as a number, but as a sexual position and therefore sees the woman chatting as having distinct carnal desires that she wishes to have fulfilled.

Names including Countries of Origin.

Example USAchick

Guys associate places with personalities so

  • Americans are brash and over the top (and generally of a larger build).
  • Nigerians are looking for a bank account to embezzle millions.
  • Russians are looking for a passport.
  • Germans are likely to have a body hair problem.

Yes these are often stereotypes but without a visual stimulus it is easy to make assumptions.

How to choose an internet chat room user name?

If you ensure that you do not choose a name containing some of the above I cannot guarantee that you will not receive unwanted male attention.

However your name in a guy's mind says so much about you as a person. It is an assumption that you have the above traits.

I totally agree Krysanthe. Men online are 99% pervs in search of a cheap thrill or because they are bored with their partners and they also read too much into a screen name take mine for instance it's a play on my last name but men seem to think that I'm fair game and then get a shock when I block them for wanting to talk dirty.

      Great post and so true
