Internet: The awesome alternate Universe

The Universe: One can only imagine how far it stretches. Is there an end? I doubt that. Just makes me proud to actually exist and be part of it. That said, I have to talk about the other world; you know? The internet; or should I say "the other life" You have to admit, Tim Berners-Lee and his peers did create a whole new world with this internet thing. People work there, date there, make friends there and a whole bunch of other stuff.

The internet is awesome. Sure, it has its negative side, you know? Hacking, child porn, and cyber-bullying among others - but at the same time it is the source of income for millions. On the other hand, it is because of the internet that many more individuals have become innovators. I mean think about it; the Smartphone evolution is off the chains. A new release today will be history next week. The tech world is ever in competition with each company striving to out-do the other, the result? New highly publicized releases every other year...

This is one of the very reasons I wish I had done something IT related at the university. There are So many opportunities for tech students in the tech world. I remember a good friend of mine telling me that everything that could be invented or created has already been invented- Yeah right!!! That would be a lazy mind talking. The internet platform in my opinion has a lot to offer.

Think about GoAnimate for instance. Some people have a good story to tell, but may not be good actors of have connections with people who can act to bring their stories to life. That is why such software as GoAnimate are so great. Even without the skills to animate one can still use the software to make good animations and post their videos on YouTube- Thereby telling their stories or sharing their ideas with the world. This is just one example. Shows how the internet influences an individual or a group of people to develop something that can be useful to a great many.

So what excuse do you have for not working? There are already two worlds and we have the opportunity to explore- If it doesn't work in the real, physical world, you can always give it a try in the world of internet.

You can literally do anything on the internet, you can bring your ideas to life, be it as a writer, an actor, an artist and even as a businessman; the internet is the place to be. Why you ask? Well, there are many reasons why the internet is so precious; here are some of the main ones;

1. It is cheap

The internet is basically one of the cheapest platforms to present your ideas. Think of YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ among others. You don't have to pay anything. All you need are solid, unique ideas, and wham; you are closer than ever to getting the attention of really interested fellows. Honestly, does it get any better? You tell me...

2. Large audience

2016 statistics showed that about 40 percent of the world's population has internet connection - Imagine that. With a global population of over 7 billion that would mean that well over 3 billion people have internet connection. If the internet is not a big enough platform then I don't know what is. All that someone with something unique to show needs is an audience. Think of all the YouTube Stars. Sure, there is some drama here and there between these individuals, but they all have something unique to offer. So, got something different? Something unique you would like to share with the world? The internet is an awesome platform, give it a try and work your way towards your goals.

3. Opportunity for the right connections

YouTube, Facebook and Twitter among others are platforms for anyone to socialize and connect with the world. For anyone with unique talents, this is also an opportunity to reach the right people and the right connections. This may involve finding people with the same passion, forming working relationships (such as forming bands, finding managers and working partners etc) and even having your talent and ideas reach heads of companies who are interested in what you have to offer.

What's Your Excuse?

We hear this every other day from our young people; There are no jobs, there are no opportunities and so on, but have you really exhausted all opportunities? Do not just sit and wait to be employed; I like to believe that we are all unique with something to offer. Something unique to share. Mine may be writing and sketching and yours may be singing and acting- So why not share it with the world?

One of the biggest advantage of the internet is that one can find just about anything they need to get to the next level. This includes tools, advice, support and the opportunity to meet other people with similar ideas and pursuing similar goals. There is noting to lose, but much to gain.
