Ipad Cover from Recycled Plastic Bags

Updated on January 2, 2013

Plastic Bags Facts

I was reading through the net about how much destruction plastic bags bring to nature, animals and human. Some interesting facts that I found on http://www.envirosax.com/plastic_bag_facts/

It made me and my mum think how to get started recycling. We searched a lot of videos on YouTube and finally found an answer, which matched what we really love to do, Crochet & knitting the plastic bags. Sounds little out of the way but interesting too.

We learned how to make yarn from the plastic bag which is called "PLARN". We asked all our relatives to give us all the plastic bags they were planning to throw away. Collected so many, my half the store room contains plastic bags. My mum and I made lots of balls of Plarns.

Recently My mom bought an Ipad, but she usually had problems carrying the Ipad, as she doesn't like carrying big handbags. She got this wonderful idea of making Ipad cover or bag so she can carry it with her all the time.

What an great idea! We keep all our bags and use them for a variety of things around the house. I have seen strips braided, and made into mats for the front door. I have never seen crocheting though. Awesome.
