Leagoo S9 Review

Updated on January 19, 2019

The new Leagoo S9 has all the external attributes of a modern flagship: a fashionable name, a trendy “mono-brow”, a big bright screen and a beautiful iridescent back. With all these undoubted advantages, the cost of the device is only about 150$.

However, do not rush to the shops. First read the review in which Hubpages will tell about all the pros and cons of a smartphone.

Leagoo S9 is constructed on the MediaTek MT6750 platform, which was once brought nearly two years ago. Even at the second of its appearance, it was supposed in the main for price range devices, to say nothing of our time. Therefore, we can say except any checks that speed is now not the strongest aspect of this smartphone.

The smartphone has 4 GB of RAM, which somewhat saves the day. The device copes with all standard tasks, the simultaneous operation of even several programs does not cause any problems.

The camera remains the most problematic component for small Chinese manufacturers. We do not know the exact reason, but even with the same sensors, rootless Chinese take off much worse than their branded competitors. It is a pity, but the Leagoo S9 is no exception.

The smartphone has a main camera with two modules - 12 and 5 MP. The manufacturer on the site writes that a module from Sony is being used, shamefully silent about the specific name of the model. And rightly so: in Sony, such advertising would definitely not be happy.

The quality of the pictures even with good lighting leaves much to be desired. Photos can not boast of the correct color reproduction, good contrast or high definition. In general, they can not boast. Special mention deserves a special mode that allows you to create high-definition images. According to the developers, this “proprietary technology” makes it possible to get pictures of 65 megapixels in size, which allow even the most detailed details to be considered even at 23 times magnification.

The Leagoo S9 has a 3,300 mAh battery, which is enough to fully use your smartphone for one day. In the PCMark Battery test, the smartphone lasted about 8 hours. All this time he had the screen turned on, and a special script imitated the usual user actions: surfing, chatting on the web, watching videos, working with documents. The device is equipped with a modern USB Type-C connector and supports fast charging. For a budget model, this is not bad.

Screen and sound

Screen size Leagoo S9 is 5.85 inches with a resolution of 720 × 1 512 pixels. It would be desirable, of course, that the resolution be bigger, but in this case it is not critical.

The device has a rather high-quality matrix, so that any claims to the image can be presented only when you begin to peer at it from a distance of several centimeters. We do not think that someone will do it in real life. The picture looks contrast and clear. Paints juicy, correct white balance, there is an automatic brightness control. But there is a special mode for reading in low light conditions. It can be activated both manually and automatically at the time you set.

The external speaker is located on the bottom of the device. Its sound has a good volume and frequency. Low frequencies, of course, are absent, but everything else is reproduced clearly.

Even more pleasant impression when using headphones . The sound picture demonstrates a wide scene, a full range of necessary frequencies and an adequate volume margin. The manufacturer’s website reports that the smartphone uses a special audio chip from Awinic, which provides signal amplification and low noise output.

Final Words

Externally, they look good, but hardly anyone will buy them for serious sports. Although there is no doubt that such products will be popular for a long time.
