The People's Champ!

In UFC,(the ultimate fighting champions), an organization where all styles and fighters from around the world, battle each other to see who's style of fighting is superior and win the world title belt. There is weight classes like in other sports, specifically like in wrestling and boxing. Fighters can move up or lower in their original weight classes once signed by the UFC. Through the whole lifespan of the organization, theres' always a special fighter who never seem to get a chance at the world title belt. Even though they have an incredible win streak and completely destroying their division. The problems can be the fighter holding the belt is hurt, occupied with another fighter, or simply doesn't want to fight. Thus, the fans and the people created "The People's Champ", a way of expressing their feelings toward the Fighter who should be crowned the champ or at least desires the title fight.

The Beginning and Background Of "El Cucuy"

Born in Oxnard, California, Anthony Armand "Tony El Cucuy " Ferguson Padilla on February 12, 1984. Tony actually grow up in Muskegon, Michigan and went to Muskegon Catholic Central High School. Tony was a three-sport athlete in High School; baseball, football, and wrestling. Tony was a very active teenager and it explains his extreme athleticism in the octagon. Tony followed and reached the highest level in wrestling, being 152lbs All-State three times back in 2002. Tony continued his wrestling career in college, at Grand Valley State University; which he say stated,"It's where I got my toughness from". In 2006 Tony won The National Collegiate Wrestling Association in 165lbs. Overall, his collegiate career was an outstanding one, however he didn't further purse wrestling. He moved back to California and began working 9 to 5 jobs, as a marketer and picking up shifts as a bartender.

Tony Ferguson will be the next ?

A. Lightweight Champion

B. #1 place in the Rank

C. Jump to 170 weight class

How UFC was Introduced to El Cucuy

As I previously said, Tony was working shifts as a bartender, when I a coach of a local walked in for a drink. Tony was there and began discussion training and martial arts, since both were martial arts fanatics. The coach later invited Tony to his gym and BOOM! Tony "El Cucuy" Ferguson was born. Tony instant fell in love the sport and concept of MMA.

Tony already had a solid foundation on the ground game and only really need to learn was striking and some submissions to learn to be great. And that's what he did, he began training tirelessly and leaning boxing with some submissions. In about 2008, Tony began his professional MMA career fighting lower level organizations all around California. Tony felt his chance to go mainstream was applying to a TVshow, owned and started by the UFC; "The Ultimate Fighter". In 2010, Tony joined the show and did outstanding, defeating all his opponents by knockout or TKO. After making it to the final and winning at The Ultimate Fighter 13 finale, Tony was awarded the trophy and the six-figure contract with the UFC. Tony has now reached the highest level in the Fighting Game.

UFC Record and Winning Streak

After, wining the finale, a year later Tony had his debut fight scheduled. First round TKO win with his opponent saying his jaw is broken and can't fight no more. Bold statement said for "El Cucuy". Tony will have only 3 loses, two by points and one by submission. However, Tony's record is 25-3 with the a tied 12 win streak for the longest in recent times. Most of Tony's wins are with his striking abilities, 12 knockouts with 8 by submission and 5 by decision. In other words, Tony wasn't one of these martial arts who aren't only one dimension and don't continue learning new fighting styles and adapt to the ever so changing Fighting Game.

Due to the last UFC Main Event, Tony should now be next in line for belt. The People's champ might finally have chance to be become The World Lightweight Champion, he should have been many years ago. If the fighting card will be pass Khabib vs Tony will fight for the belt in a fight every fighting fan, been wanting for years. I see this fight being the fight of The Century!
