Mobile Gadgets: Wireless Spy Camera Hunter Sees Live Video from Wireless Cameras

Updated on March 13, 2011

You feel that you are being watched. Oh, that is ridiculous because there is no one else around – right? No, no one is there but gosh the hair on the back of your neck keeps standing straight up. It is possible that a camera is watching you. Just because you do not see a camera does not been that it is not there.

A friend is in a long drawn-out custody battle. There have been private investigators, surveillance cameras in department stores and who knows what else. Could there be a wireless camera in the kids backpack? Even the neighbors are suspect.

Is there a way to know if a wireless camera is placed strategically to see what she does in her own home? Yes there is. Before I tell you what it is please remember that you could freak out an innocent camera owner if they found out that you were seeking out wireless cameras in the area.

The best way to detect a wireless camera is with a Wireless Spy Camera Hunter. Most video signals are found within a particular frequently range so as the Spy Camera Hunter locks onto a frequency (within 500 feet) the wireless camera is detected. If the camera is active the Spy Camera Hunter can display the actual video on its own 2.5” screen. If that weren’t enough there is a video out port so that the video can be recorded onto a video camera or video recorder. Four AA batteries get you started.

Finding this gadget and realizing that any stranger could capture a wireless video is a bit discomforting. Whether the wireless camera is at my home or in my business it is not my intent to broadcast anything outside of the premises. This is a wake up call for me.

On the other hand if I were in my friend’s position I would be the one with the Wireless Spy Camera Hunter.

Wow that's crazy. I almost want to get one because one of my buddies is the spy type and I wouldn't be surprised if he plants cameras all over the place.
