PS3 DNS Errors

PS3 DNS Errors

If you get errors from your PS3 about DNS Errors, this will most likely solve them.

Step 1: Turn on your PS3.

Step 2: Go to Settings

Step 3: then—> Network Settings

Step 4: select—> Internet Connection

Note: If a prompt appears, select “Yes”

Step 5: select method—> Custom

Step 6: select a connecting method—> this is your choice, Wireless or Wired

For Wireless:

Step 7: Scan or enter your wireless network.

Step 8: Enter the security setting for your network.

Step 9: For “IP Address Setting”—> Automatic

Step 10: For “DHCP host name” select—> Do Not Set

Step 11: For “DNS Setting” select—> Manual

Step 12:

  • Primary DNS: 4.2.2.2
  • Second DNS: 4.2.2.1

Step 13: MTU—> Automatic

Step 14: Proxy Server—> Do not use

Note: you may have to use a proxy server depending on your network settings but for most typical home users this is not required.

Step 15: UPnP—> Enable

Note: the UPnP setting must also be enabled on your router. Click here to find out how to turn that on.

Step 16: Press “X” to save and test your settings. Test your connection to make sure everything worked.

For Wired:

Step 7: select—> Auto-Detect

Step 8: IP Address Setting—> Automatic

Step 8: For “IP Address Setting”—> Automatic

Step 9: For “DHCP host name” select—> Do Not Set

Step 10: For “DNS Setting” select—> Manual

Step 11:

  • Primary DNS: 4.2.2.2
  • Second DNS: 4.2.2.1

Step 12: MTU—> Automatic

Step 13: Proxy Server—> Do not use
