One of the best tablet devices money can buy: the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101

Updated on June 22, 2012

Are you looking for a cool device to buy? A tablet PC may be the best answer. If you are unsure about being able to manage without a real keyboard you should not worry too much because you will find many convertible tablet PCs on the market today. Practically a convertible will act as 2 devices in one. You will be able to use a pure tablet PC whenever you want to, but you will also have the ability to use a device very similar to a mini laptop hen you need to type a lot of text. A perfect device for you if you feel you are in this case is the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101. This device does more than to simply convert to a laptop from a tablet and back, it transforms itself from one to the other. If you are looking for one of the best tablet PC devices you may find this tablet PC more than suitable.

The Transformer comes with a Tegra 250, 1GB of RAM memory, and 16GB or 32GB of storage space depending on your choice. You can supplement storage space with a microSD card. The screen of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 is a 10.1 inch capacitive IPS display at a resolution that will probably please you enough: 1280x800. As an extra the device also has 2 cameras. The main camera, situated on the back of the device is a 5 MP more than decent camera. If you enjoy video conferences the front 1.3 MP camera will surely also help you a lot.

When it comes to autonomy the device is not bad at all. If you only use it as a tablet its battery can last up to 9.5 hours. Obviously this convertible tablet PC used as a laptop will have a lower autonomy.

I believe you will also enjoy the design of this device. The materials out of which it is built are solid and really do look good.

Availability and pricing

The price of the Transformer is also decent. If you will be satisfied with the 16 GB storage version you will only have to pay 400 dollars. If you want more storage space you will have to add 100 dollars for the 32 GB version. This is not a cheap product but nor is it exaggeratedly expensive. I believe it is worth considering buying the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 if you are looking for one of the best tablet slates with an excellent external keyboard.
