Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 lens

Updated on January 19, 2016

A little over a year ago, I purchased the Rokinon 86mm f/1.4 lens for the Samsung NX300. At first I was a litte skeptical because the name of the brand was unknown to me and the price seemed too good to be true. The 85mm lens usually runs for a very high price, but if you don't want to do some damage to your account and looking for excellent performance, this is definitely a lens that you cannot miss out on.

Here is an overview of it's features:

Aperture Range: F/1.4 - F/16

Minimum Focusing Distance: 3.3 ft

Minimum ApertureĆ’/22

Minimum Focal Length85

Item Weight1.4 pounds

Pros

Image Quality: No doubt does this lens produce amazing photos and no doubt it provides a beautiful bokeh. This lens provides beautiful portraits from open wide and perorms like a brand name 85mm f/1.4 lens.

Value: You can't go wrong for the price of the lens and the performance of the lens. It's a little heavy and has a nice sturdy build to it.

Cons

The only con for this lens is focus. Keep in mind that this is a full manual lens with no auto focus feature on it. This lens will require proficient manual focus or must be dedicated to a lot of practice in manual focus, and sometimes manual focus can get a little difficult with this lens.

The lens has an aperture ring so if you're looking to change aperture setting on the camera, look for it on the lens.

You can view some of the samples of the 85mm lens at the bottom of the blog.
