Several Ways that You Can Annoy Me

Updated on March 25, 2013

The first thing that attracted you to this hub was not the title of this hub, but the picture that is associated with this hub. Yes, the picture is of me, which was taken around two years ago. I was extremely bored and playing with my new webcam at the time. My oh my, how times have changed. Anywho, let's get to the matter thats at hand. Several ways that you or others can annoy me. I know what your thinking right now ? Why would I let others know what annoys me ? Well, the answer to that question is to see if we have similar annoying habits that we see in others. Without further adieu, I will begin to speak about repetitive habits of others that tend to annoy the heck out of me.

1. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat!

Nothing annoys me more than when someone asks me to repeat myself especially we they actually heard me the first time. When it comes to my friends, they tend to want me to repeat myself over and over again. I understand that there are cases when you have to repeat yourself because someone actually didn't hear you, but to do it all of the time is unnecessary. Moral of this story is if I have to continue to repeat myself over and over again then I will personally buy you a tape recorder and you will use it everytime we talk!

2. Last Minute Plan Changes

Oh, goodness gracious! It really really bugs me when I make plans with someone and they decide to change them at the very last minute especially when I've told others I've had plans and I couldn't hang out with them. I do understand that there might be an emergency, but to make plans with me only to cancel and to hang out with someone else is very rude, disrespectful, and time consuming. I've waited on you all day only for you to tell me nevermind and that you are hanging out with someone else is also very hurtful and degrading and makes me or anyone feel as if you don't respect our position in your life as a friend, family member, or spouse.

3. Scratching the Chalkboard

In middle school, our teacher would punish us by scratching the chalkboard. It is very annoying and makes my ears hurt. It makes me cringe everytime someone does that or when I hear a noise that is similar to scratching on chalkboard. After a while, it becomes quite annoying and bothersome. Don't please don't do it around me. If you want to do it or listen to a similar noise, please tell me ahead of time, so that I may excuse myself.

4. Smacking

I truly do understand that you haven't eaten all day and that the meal you are having is the best meal that you've had in weeks. I've been there lately, trust me. Living off of ramen noodles, cereal, and sandwiches is a far cry from delicious Olive Garden food. Nom nom nom. The food causes your eyes to widen, your mouth to water, and for you to stuff your face like a cave dweller chasing a wilderbeast. I truly do understand. I don't mind that you are stuffing your face; it's just that you are making those irritating smacking noises, which bothers me and causes me to yell at you to stop. I don't want to be rude in the restaurant so I really don't mind sending you a swift kick, a glare from my eyes, looking at your food, and pointing at your mouth for you to understand that you should stop.

5. Talkative People

I love having conversation with people now and then. After a while of you talking, I tend to have a habit of fading in and out of the conversation, only catching the last tidbits of where you actually speak of the root of the problem and how you feel. I get annoyed by people that tend to talk forever and never stop. Callate! Please please please. I also have the tendency to blurt out how I feel at a particular moment and I really don't want to hurt your feelings. Therefore, every now and then please stop talking. Take a breather, make a snack, text a friend, check up on your relatives. Anything at all! Please just stop talking

6.Gossip

I do like learning of gossip, don't get me wrong. However, I don't like continuously speaking on it as if it has that much relevance in our conversation. I feel that gossip is going to spread naturally and you can either regard the information or disregard the information, but don't speak on it in negative light if you weren't there to actually see the situation at hand. The majority of gossip contains some truths and some lies anyway so the best thing to do is to take it with a grain of salt.

7. Noises

I really do enjoy being around children. They tend to be very creative, fun, smiley, adventurous, and a majority of other things. In contrast, they tend to make noises out of anything and everything that they can get their hands on. I don't mind that they are making noises, but when I'm watching Grimm or the Voice, I tend to get a little cranky. Kids don't make repetitive noises around me; a young woman can only take so much! I don't want to take away your toys or to put you in timeout!

8. Food

Whenever I have been deprived of food for more than a few hours, I become cranky and quite mean. Do not ever ever ever ever stop me from reaching the food that I want! I don't want to have to put mud on you or tackle you to the ground with tickles... So whatever you do don't play a prank on me by saying your going to cook food and don't. Don't put me in a place, where I can't reach food. Don't go grocery shopping and only buy a few things. People these are actions that you must not do! Think of the hungry person back home. Think of me !

Smacking and gossip are at the top of my list. I have been in situations where someone's gossiping and the person walks in and the yapping stops. They know it's wrong, if it wasn't it would be said right in front of the topic of discussion. Smacking drives me absolutely nuts too.

Torrilyn, very nice list and I also get irritated by people who don't know when to stop apologizing. I know couple of girls who once start to say sorry would keep on saying sorry and keep of repeating their side of things with lots of sorry in between until u r thoroughly annoyed and tell them to get lost. Liked your blog. Voting up and sharing.

I would say that number 1 to 6 on your list also annoys me but I have no problem with number 7 and 8. If it was my list I would add dishonesty and violence. A great hub!

I agree with billybuc 100% -- negative people drain all one's energy and bore me to death. We all have negative moments but when it's a lifestyle -- go away! Good Hub! Best/Sis
