Should I buy an Ipad 2?
When the Ipad was released in 2010, it became one of the fastest selling consumer gadgets in the world. Even though tablets have been around for a while, the Ipad revolutionized the consumer tablet market. When other tech companies saw the success of the Ipad, they started to develop their own tablet. But that wasn't till 2011. The Ipad is know as the king of tablets but that may change because of the rising android platform.
Okay, enough with the introduction. I assume you are a person who is looking to buy a tablet soon, preferably the Ipad 2 but quite skeptical about it. Also I assume that you are a person who is not buying a tablet just for the hype and want your money invested on a device that is quite useful on a daily basis. And Im here to help with your decision.
When Ipad first came out many people saw it as an oversized ipod. Which was quite true. But what came in handy was the extra screen real estate. The bigger screen opened possibilities for better gaming, full web page viewing, better productivity apps and overall easier reading of ebooks and e-magazines. But it was missing a few features that could've been useful to consumers.
Then came the Ipad 2 which I think what the first Ipad shoud have been. It came with dual cameras which was good for facetime and capturing LQ photos, faster processor better graphics. It was pretty much what everyone was expecting. It was also thinner which made it much more vulnerable to screen cracks. But it still came with IOS which rather fits the Iphone.
IOS is simply one of the best mobile operating systems out there. It gained popularity because of the visual appeal and ease of use. But many people doubt that IOS is optimized for tablets. IOS is perfect for iphones and Ipods but does not take advantage of the Ipad's bigger screen. Personally I believe IOS is not ready for tablets. And If you are only planning to buy an apple tablet I would hold for the Ipad 3. I am confident that the Ipad 3 will not only include performance boosts but with an enhanced version of IOS that can also do true multitasking. The Ipad 3 will also most likely to have a higher def display. I believe that for most people Ipad is a luxury not a necessity. So for now I would rather save my money and wait for a tablet that is powered by a much advanced OS. (speaking of operating systems that are optimized for tablets, WebOS is showing a alot of promise)
Hopefully I was able to shed some light on the subject and made you a better informed person. But ultimately it's up to you to decide if your money should be invested on a tablet now or later on.Thank you for reading and let me know what you think by leaving a comment.
