Social Traffic and Google Friend Connect

Updated on April 23, 2009

Social Traffic

Social Traffic began as an experiment to see what a small group of dedicated social marketers could do when being taught cutting edge social marketing strategies and working together as a group.

The Social Traffic training included activities, learning sessions, training videos and project-based tasks covering all major aspects of social marketing and create a strong foundation of knowledge for aspiring social marketers to build their social marketing careers.

Equally important and infinitely more fun, is the relationships that are built with other social marketers who are also becoming experts in the field.

What is Google Friend Connect

Google Friend Connect is a simple, but powerful way to add social feaures to your website without having to hire a team of programmers to do it for you. You simply have to add a couple of lines of code to add it to your site.

WIthin your GFC widgets you will be able to grow your community. In fact every blog or site can form a community around it. Communities where people of similar ideas and interests can interact, collaborate and socialize. Your community members will be able to invite their friends from other social networks to expand your community.

GFC has made social networking a lot easier, and is a great way to stay in touch with friends. The great thing is that it can be implemented into any website and most blogging platforms without needing to know any programming skills, just a couple of lines ofcode copied and pasted into any editor. Goes to show new technology does not have to be over complicated, and that's whatmakes GFC so good.

I'll guess you agree that GFC deserves priority attention and that Social Traffic training gets one ready to use it intelligently. Can't imagine where I'll be without this focus moving forward. And then...all the wonderful community benefits....namaste, Pierre

      I feel kinda silly here.

I checked out Hub Pages a while back and didn't really get too interested. Now that I'm going through Simon's article marketing course again, I am really digging it.

I just posted my first Hub, and it happens to be on Google Friend Connect ~*Surpirse*~ But seriously, I am really into these Hubs. Thanks for the lead Doug!

I see 59% of people already have GFC, with your article, it has cleared up my questions so now I am ready to join Google Friends Connect (GFC). What a great modem to join like minded and curious people to our own or favorite web sites by simply installing a widget. Thanks social traffic for getting this information out and keeping it simple. julianne koritz

It is really by participating in team sports that we learn it is easier than doing "it" alone.

I am especially pleased I am beginning to recognize certain people's mug shots on GFC widgets. As early adopters it almost guarantees those faces are from STI. :-)

Now our scrappy team at Social Traffic has turned its sights to defeating Google on their search engine results.

When we succeed here, the world will know that Social Traffic is a seuperforce in Social Media. Stay tuned as we takeover the Google Search results for the term, "Google Friend Connect."

I have been doing health insurance over the internet since the late 1990's. At the time I began, the internet had not caught on anywhere like it is today. Over the past 10 to 15 years there have been some signficant changes, with Google's entry changing internet use in a way that made it far more useful and effective for all. Google was a evolutionary leap in our relationship to worldwide content. We are now in the midst of another evolutionary leap, social media. In the past, it was advertise and attract clients. Social media brings out a new interactive dynamic. People can find each other and collaborate worldwide. It is becoming increasingly clear that there are those part of this leap and collaboration and those resisting it. As the Borg say in Star trek "Resistance is futile" The difference is this leap is a lot of fun. Social Traffic has come forward to make this leap fun and useful.

Google Friend Connect is like a little underground tunnel and as Simon Ford mentioned in one of his Youtube Videos, he said that GFC will eventually connect every thing on the internet. Pretty awesome.

I was able to install Google Friend Connect and I have trouble installing my license plate tabs on my car... ok ok just kidding.

I love this concept: organizing many for the good of all. It's so organizc and poweful. The results speak for themselves. I love even more that we can utilize an easy-to-use tool like GFC to to gel it all together!

The use of Google Friend Connect has allowed a determined social networking organization like Social Traffic to become a leader in it's use of this new online tool. Not only have they mastered the use of GFC but they have also found effective ways to raise their own instructional video product to the top of googles search engines beating out the creators themselves before the masses have even had the opportunity to fully utilize this product. Marketing on the internet is all about who can move the greatest number of people to act at the most opportune moment and Social Traffic has come out of the starter's blocks in good form to set the pace and show others how it is done.

It's amazing what a powerful tool Google Friend Connect is...and you don't need to be a coder to add it to your site. I think every site or blog should utilize Google Friend Connect and enjoy their own community of supporters. With every member being able to invite friends and expand your community, it's a great way to unite people of similar interests to collaborate and socialize on your website or blog.

      Thanks for the great information.
