StringTunerDS: A portable Guitar/Bass Tuner app for the NDS (Nintendo DS)

Updated on May 17, 2013

So, you need a free guitar tuner? Badly?

String Tuner DS is a NDS homebrew app for tuning your guitar. It is VERY accurate. I had my guitar tuned in less than 5 minutes with this app. The one dis-benifit about it, though, is that it does not sense the touch screen too well. However, you may have no problem. Here is the download link:

Note: This may seem a bummer to you, as it was to me, but the only controls for this is the touch screen. And... at the time I was using it, I didn't have a touch screen, so I had to use a different DS.

You may be wondering... What's Nintendo DS homebrew?

It is what instantly ranks the DS from playing games to watching videos, listening to music, PLAYING GAMES, running apps, etc. Now that I have you all hyped up, I'm going to down you by saying you need a flash cart. Yes. You need one. However, not to fear! You can order one online. This isn't something you would find at your local retail store, because it's unofficial. Here are some flash carts below:

Don't let the title fool you; this card is simple but yet supports everything but auto-DLDI patching!

I can't resist NOT adding this flash cart in; the Acekard2i. This card is simple and to the point. Stick the flash cart in your DS. Stick a MicroSD/MicroSDHC card with firmware in the flash cart and BANG you have it.

I hope this article satisfied you and you have a guitar/bass tuner now. Thanks for reading. Questions, or maybe you have thoughts? Post them in the comments!
