*The Best Of Samsung* - Phones, Tablets and more!

Updated on December 6, 2015

Let's talk history!

Let's start off with a little bit of history from Samsung. Mr. Lee Byung Chul was born on Feb. 12 1910 in South Korea, he was the son of a rich family and the only child. Due to his family's wealth he never had any trouble with school or life poverty. He was then sent to Waseda University in Japan but he didn't complete his degree, and during that time his father passed away which put a lot of stress on him.

Later on his first business was in trade export selling dried Korean fish, veggies and fruits in which it was named Samsung Trading Co. It was not long before the name SAMSUNG (meaning 3 Stars- in Korean) would be one of the world's known companies. It was not until 1950 when the communist's invaded the south. Despite losing a lot of stock and money he relocated to Suwon in 1951 and in 2 short years his company increased its staff and profits by a staggering amount estimated at 2000%.

Samsung Electronics!

Now that we covered the history portion let's get into the more in depth section of this article. The global headquarters for Samsung are located in Seoul, South Korea, but their U.S. headquarters are located in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. This company currently employs 369,000 people worldwide, and is one of the largest companies in the electronics world! (YES 369,000 people - THAT'S A LOT OF PEOPLE! ) The current CEO and Chairman for Samsung is Mr. Lee Kun-Hee. He oversees all of the branches of Samsung, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung heavy industries, Samsung Techwin, Samsung Engineering, and all the other branches. (A big shout out to Mr. Lee Kun Hee).

Over the past years Samsung has made many amazing improvements to their electronics. One of the most important being their phones. The main key products that Samsung has distributed and seen wild success with is its mobile phone division of the electronics company. On the company’s website, they claim that their mobile phones are “admired by customer around the world, enhance mobile lifestyles while meeting the divers need of the mobile marketplace." From the greatest Samsung Galaxy Avant to the Samsung S5 mini, to the Galaxy Note series such as the Galaxy Note 2, Note 3 and Note 4 and of course their newest model Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung's popularity- Phones and tablets

Looking back at the market and seeing how Samsung has drastically changed is really mind blowing. Samsung is the most popular Android phone maker, by far in the industry. This success is entirely built on Samsung’s Galaxy brand which has encompassed over 50 separate devices, if you count all the smartphone variants, phablets, and tablets released so far. Samsung has bombarded every price point, every form factor, every carrier, and every country it can possibly reach all the way from it's country of Origin to China, Russia, South Asia, Middle East, Africa and of course South and North America (Yes I MEAN EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY.)

The phones - GALAXY series + Note Series

It was the Galaxy S II, though, that led Samsung to truly break out in the U.S. With it's 1650mAh battery life, OS Platform 2.3 (Android) and 4.3" Super AMOLED display this phone was going to hit sales big time! The Galaxy S II was released under that name on three out of four major wireless carriers, which meant that Samsung could start powerful marketing campaigns around the phone. Now that's a great way to start!

After the GALAXY SII then came the GALAXY S III and now we have the GALAXY S4. The GALAXY S4 features a beautiful SUPER AMOLED 5" display with 1080p resolution. It currently runs the Lollipop 5.0 and the Exynos processor 5 OCTA. It has a beautiful 13 MP camera and 2600 mAh battery life.

But wait THERE'S MORE! In the year 2011 Samsung released the SII then in March of 2012 they released the GALAXY SIII and get this, in April 2013 the GALAXY S4 which sold 20million (not dollars - but devices) in just the first 2 months of it's release. Following the S4 on Feb. 2014 at the Mobile World Congress the GALAXY S5 was unveiled and that same year in April it was released in 150 countries worldwide! The GALAXY S5 has a beautiful 5.1" SUPER AMOLED display and a 15 MP camera that catches wonderful pictures.

Well as we see Samsung's success so far, let's get into the GALAXY NOTE series. The first in the note series called GALAXY Note was released on Oct. 2011, with it's 5.3" and 4210 EXYNOS processor it sold 10million units worldwide. But Samsung didn't stop there, the next phone in their line was unveiled at IFA Berlin on August 29, 2012, and released in multiple markets at the beginning of October 2012. Samsung sold more than 3 million units within the first 37 days and it crossed 5 million in two months of its release. (Holy wow!)

Serving as a successor to the Note II, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone was launched in September 2013. The phone comes with a 5.7" touch screen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. Samsung has sold 5 million units of the Galaxy Note 3 within its first month of sale and broke 10 million units sales in just under 2 months. With this improvement Samsung also gave the Note III a 3,200 mAh battery life. This was a huge deal and a big break through for Samsung.

The Note 4, with it's beautiful design is just under a year old, it should be able to run the most recent apps and software just fine. TouchWiz, by Samsung, runs on top of Android on this device, offering a customized experience. It has an extraordinary 5.7" QUAD HD SUPER AMOLED display and not to mention the 3,220 mAh batter life and the great super fast charger. The great 16 MP camera offers rich tone and HD quality pictures, not the mention that the Front Camera has 3.7MP + F1.9/ Selfie (90º), and get this it also contains a wide selfie mode (120º)!! To even make this more interesting, it also contains a sensor on the back which will work with S Health or just in general if you want to monitor you heart rate, oxygen level and even stress levels. This feature is also available on the GALAXY S5. (Best phones ever - Samsung phones are amazing)

Recently in August of 2015, Samsung just released their newest and latest design of the Note series. The Samsung GALAXY Note 5. It's the best Android phone with a large screen, a stylus and an accurate 16MP camera that provides punchier colors, without becoming oversaturated. The front-facing 5MP camera is a different story. It provides those same wider selfie photos with a f/1.9 aperture and more vibrant colors but just a bit off on the low-lighting situation.

Overall my experiences with the SAMSUNG phones have been amazing, I currently own the GALAXY Note 4 and have had a great time with this device! I love the quality of the phones. I'm looking forward to more phones and tablets from them and for sure a couple of improvements here and there. I hope that this article was useful to you all out there.

Have a great day and looking forward to sharing more, new and interesting topics!

Thanks, M
