Top Chat Websites

Updated on September 22, 2012

In the advancing world of Internet, new websites and chat features are coming daily. Online chatting websites are getting popular day by day as they are ‘advanced’ form of SMS. Even SMS costs money, but these chat services are totally free if you have a working Internet connection.

Online Chat is a term for communicating with your friends on Internet using medias like texts, images or audios or videos. Online chat can be called ‘Instant Messaging’. Instant Messaging (IM) is popular on Emailing Websites such as Yahoo!, Hotmail, and Gmail. These services are called Instant Messengers and they are included in other services.

Chatting online is a great way to get rid of boredom. The time passes so quickly when you use these websites.

This is an unofficial list and it’s not in any order. Here’s the list:

- Mig33

Mig33 is an online chat community with social games, contests and chatrooms. It is available on Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phones and J2ME. It has 65 million users. Users need to sign up in order to start chatting. They need to choose a specific username, enter their email address, and authenticate their account. Users can add other users as a friend (Send Friend Request) using their usernames. Username is everything here. Therefore, choose a simple and unique username.

There are thousands of chatrooms available. The more you chat and do other activities, the higher your level becomes. MigLevel is a level for every user. When you register, you have migLevel 1 and it goes on increasing by 1 the more you use it. The level will increase pretty quickly till 15. After that, it takes up to a week to get to another level.

It lets you chat with Facebook users (those who are online on your Facebook), Yahoo! Users and Google Talk users.

There is another service provided by Mig33 i.e. miniBlog. It is similar to Twitter where you can create small posts, follow and mention others, re-share and comment. You can send ‘virtual gifts’ to your friends, but that costs ‘credits’. You can get credits by buying them. For buying them, you need to pay money. It’s an amazing website. Visit Mig33.

- Nimbuzz

Nimbuzz is similar to mig33. It’s available on Android, iPhone, Mac, PC (software) and Web. An additional feature here is that you can send files to your friends. It also has IMs like Facebook and Yahoo Messenger. You can get quotes, your horoscope, cricket score, news flash, and jokes easily chatting with bots. Quotes Buddy will reply with a quote when you type ‘quote’.

- Omegle

Omegle is a website where you can chat with strangers. You can either find strangers with similar interests that you have or completely random strangers. At a time, more than 27,000 users are online. Therefore, you will have a fun time. You can either have a text chat or a video chat if you have a web cam. Omegle doesn’t ask for your email id or name or anything. You simply can ‘Start Chat’ and start chatting.

- Tiny Chat

Tiny Chat is a video chatting website, but user can chat via audio and text too. It is popular worldwide. Users can create their own chatrooms. There are thousands of chatrooms and users can select any chatroom they like. You can use Tiny Chat’s app on Facebook for video chatting with your Facebook friends.

- Chatroulette

Chatroulette is very similar to Tiny Chat as it supports Text, Audio and Video chats. You do not even need to register here. Just type the website’s address and it will load. After it has loaded, you will be connected to a random user. It will be an audio and video chat where you can interact using text too.
