USB Pins - Pin out and in of the USB wire, cord, cable
What is inside our USB?
Using usb port these days are getting more and more popular but what is inside our usb cable?
How many wires does it have?
What are the wires?
Does it have corresponding value?
How about the color codes?
If we do the skinning of wire in our USB, we can see four wires. Normally, we have red, black, green and white.
These four little wires of the USB wiring have their own assignments.
RED - has 5 volts running through it which is also the positive wire.
BLACK - is the ground or the negative wire of the USB.
GREEN - is the wire where the data pass through on its negative value.
WHITE - is the wire where the data pass through on its positive value.
There are also USB with different wire colors. One example is the photo below just taken with my KONICA Digicam.
In a different USB cable, the colors are orange, blue, white and green.
Orange is for positive of 5 volts in EMF.
White is the ground or the negative terminal wire.
Green is the data in positive and blue is for negative of data linking.
How many USB flash drive you have at home?
Some USBs with Shields...
There are expensive USB cords which are stronger and have a metallic shield.
This has nothing to do with the USB so just separate that when you wrap your USB wires after connecting.
If you buy this kind of USB cord, you may find it hard to slice it to get the four wires inside.
Try to use a long nose pliers for this task and slowly and carefully snap the shield without hitting the four wires inside.
USB cables in different uses
I have many usb cord at home with their specific functions. As you can see below I have black and white USB wires in different sizes.
I use usb connection to my HP Jornada - Handheld PC, Webcam, Nokia Phone in any models, usb operated external HD and the like and to my USB type modem.
My various types of USB function
My Handheld PC was first used in 1999 and USB port that time was the coolest stuff in the technology world. I was so proud of it that time using this kind of gadget.
I bought my webcam last year with a USB cord for USB port on my computer and I find it cool when I know it's been upgraded to usb 3.0 and in high speed.
I am happy about my USB wire when I use to transfer files from my Nokia Phone to my computer at home. I also lent my USB to my friends if they want to transfer files from their phones.
I have five common USB wire at home which are used for my external HD, Digicam and card reader. You can see this USB everywhere.
Lastly, I am happy to know about my USB antenna for my USB type Modem for 3G and 4G internet service provider in my area.
