Buy a USB Headset Microphone for your Computer for Karaoke, Singing, Skype and Gaming Mics

Updated on November 9, 2012

There are many different uses for a headset microphone.  You may use a wireless headset microphone to take calls on your computer, or you may use it for staying connected with your friends and foes while playing video games.  USB headset microphones are probably the most popular variety of these available because they can easily be moved from one computer to another using the common USB port.  Some of these headset microphones can be used on video game systems or with portable devices too.

Personally, I use my headset microphone for singing karaoke on my computer, talking to family on Skype, communicating with others while I play World of Warcraft, and I use the headset to listen to music when I don’t want to disturb others.

There are many headset microphone reviews out there, and we won’t attempt to compete with the good information that is already available.  However, I will offer some information about the best reviewed microphone products available on Amazon.  These headsets have wireless microphones built into them that will allow you to listen and talk in one simple product.

Duopro Convertible Headset

The best reviewed headset microphone on Amazon is the Duopro Convertible Headset. This product is amazing for many reasons. It has noise cancelling technology that is on par with some of the top names in speakers and earphones. At under $60, this convertible headset by Duopro is a bargain. It offers a quality microphone attachment with a headset that is excellent for music as well as for use as a headset to answer telephone calls and do other mundane tasks. Some of the features this headset offers are:

  • All day Comfort
  • Best in Class Sound Quality
  • Noise-Canceling microphone
  • Ergonomic innovations for unsurpassed comfort
  • Anti-twist boom for microphone placement

The price tag of $55.00 may seem high to some, but the quality offered makes this a true bargain.

Ge 95701 Voip Internet Headset

Another well reviewed set of headphones with attached microphone is produced by GE.  This is a budget friendly model that retails for less than $25.00.  If want to buy a cheap headset microphone, this is the one you should consider.  It doesn’t have many of the comfort features found in the high dollar models, but this headset microphone will easily meet your needs and is heavy duty enough not to break after a few uses.

Logitech headset microphone

A popular choice for many users is a Logitech headset microphone. The most popular product made by Logitech in this category is the Logitech Premium Stereo Headset with Noise-Canceling Microphone. This is a middle of the road product that offers a few extra features not found in the bargain brands. Some of the features of the Logitech microphone headset product are:

  • Dynamic stereo sound for games and music
  • Controls are available on the headset itself
  • Noise-canceling microphone for reducing background noise
  • Comfortable earpads and a soft band for ultimate comfort
  • Large frequency range of: headset: 20 to 20,000 Hz; microphone: 100 to 16,000 Hz

As you can see there are many different options for buying headset microphones.  You may find one of these other leading sellers fit your needs.  I’d love to hear what product you wound up trying.  Feel free to leave a comment about the product you wind up trying.
