Ways to improve your computer's performance.

Updated on April 24, 2015

Delete unnecessary programs

This is one of the most popular ways to get your pc run fast. Statistics show that many people download 50 mb of data every single day from the internet. Some of these programs contain virus which adds up as another disadvantage to your pc. One way of avoiding this is to keep track of all the programs you download and uninstall instantly the ones you don’t need. Another way is to go to control panel every week and go through the list o programs you’ve downloaded and uninstall programs which you don’t use. If you have some cash, you can purchase the pc decrapifire which tells you which programs you don’t need.

Update to the latest software of the pc’s operating system

Always make a step of updating to the newest version of your operating system. For instance when windows xp was first established, computers with xp operating system were faster than those with windows 98. Right now there is a newer operating system of 8.1 which is faster and has new additional features which are useful. Updating the pc’s operating software improves its performance and hence it runs faster.

Buy more RAM

Ram is another form of computer storage that allows data items to be read and written at the same amount of time. The more programs you use, the more them ram you need. If you have a low amount of ram it’s hard to install large files since ram help speed up the download speed. So it’s good to upgrade the ram and make the pc run faster again. 4 GB of ram is the most appropriate to buy and run it to you pc. You can either install it yourself or have a computer technician install it for you

Remove the dust on your computer

Dust can block the airflow which cools the computer and prevent overheating. When airflow is blocked, obviously your computer will overheat and this makes the performance of the computer slow down. There are YouTube videos which can show you how to clean up your pc since cleaning up takes necessary steps and this is another easy way to improve your computer performance though people ignore it.

Install antivirus software

This is another easy way to improve the performance of your computer. A computer virus can destroy your computer completely if it stays in your computer for a long time. It also slows down the performance of the computer mostly freezing the computer screen. The good thing is there are antivirus softwares which you can install in your pc and clean all the virus, but remember to choose the right anti virus programs because there are many scammers out there I would recommend Norton and avast.

Restart and refresh your computer regularly

When you leave your computer on regularly, programs can take up more memory. When you restart your computer over and over, prevents your pc from memory leaking. Also it’s advisable to refresh your computer at least six times per day. Refreshing also prevent the screen and programs from freezing. To refresh just right click on the desktop and select the refresh option.

Clear your cache

If your internet browser is running slowly, try clearing your cache. Cache is known to slow down the internet browsing speed. Clearing cache is easy but different browsers have different settings where you can perform the activity. You can watch a video on YouTube on how to clear the cache with the browser you are using.

Add more hard drive storage

This case applies to people who like to install lots of photos and videos in their computer. They reduce the space and slow down the pc. One way of avoiding this if you don’t want to delete them is to by an using external hard disk. It’s not expensive, it is available in amazon too. This is another amazing way to increase your computer performance.
