What Utility Companies Don't Want You To Know

Updated on July 21, 2015

The real truth

Utility, oil and gas companies are not only causing damage to our planet at an alarming rate, we are paying them to do it! And paying them very well. We can pay ourselves for making our own clean energy to power our homes and very soon our cars and trucks. The technology is here now that allows all of us to produce our own energy while saving money in the process!

Wake up people and save your money and your planet at the same time. I realize the subject of global warming is and has been a debate for some time. But there is no debate on the amount of money we pay to these companies for something that we can now begin to produce ourselves. Renewable energy is on the market and everyone who can afford to pay utility companies can easily afford to purchase a system to create their own power. This is a fact that is easily verified by anyone who simply checks it out for themselves, no matter where they live.

If we do nothing our future is just a pipe dream!

7 Things Power Companies Don't Want You to Know!

1. You can create your own power and do not need the utility company any longer!

2. It costs you more to do nothing, than to create your own power! It costs less per month to purchase a solar system than pay your electric bill, from day one and in a few years its free!

3. Solar technology is about to take a quantum leap forward and make utility companies obsolete within the next decade. With the advent of solar quantum dot technology on the horizon that collects energy day and night with small normal looking window glass!

4. You can be paying yourself every month rather than your utility bill and also power your car with solar within the next few years. Using quantum solar dot technology!

5. Electric prices rise about 5% per year and gas prices have risen through the roof and will continue to do so!

6. Utility companies and oil companies are spending millions of dollars to buy pseudo scientists to spread disinformation about global warming causing doubt to confuse the masses while they rake in their profits. They know that they are the main cause of global warming and want to hide that from you as long as possible!

7. Utility and oil companies have been legally contributing millions of dollars to politicians to make laws allowing them to take more of our money while damaging the environment and keeping us in the dark about it!

Earthquakes and Weather

We have always thought that weather extremes and changes do not directly effect earthquakes. Recently it has been found that global warming which is causing vast amounts of glacial ice to melt is effecting the tectonic plates of the earth. When large amounts of water add enough weight to the tectonic plates below the surface, the pressure can push and grind the plates to speed the process of an earthquake or volcano that is presently laying dormant. As we know these can also cause a tsunami. US News Week has reported that this is what scientists said happened at Nepal in April of 2015. More of this type of devastation is expected to happen more frequently around the world as global warming continues. Extreme storms have also become more numerous around the globe and will continue to be more frequent as global warming continues to grow unchecked. Global warming has become a real concern for us now and will continue to do so. Human activity such as pollution from many sources is adding to any natural warming that is presently occurring. This problem needs to be taken seriously by everyone, rather than being debated and argued about until its too late. People seem to be more concerned about AI harming humans in the future than the damage we are now causing. AI may in fact rule the world one day because they will be the only thing that can survive the devastation caused by global warming? Just saying, wake up before its too late.

Here is a link to another story on how ice caps melting add stress to tectonic plates from the water weight. These new studies suggest that global warming, both natural and man made can cause a dormant earthquake to trigger. We are now witnessing more extreme weather conditions than ever, this cannot be denied. Nature may have a hand in much of this, but using clean, free energy can certainly not hurt and seems the smarter way to go. Its a win / win situation for everyone but the companies selling us the energy. There is currently much money invested in old outdated forms of energy production which is why they are fighting the science investigating global warming.

Legal conspiracy in the USA

The legal corruption by oil companies and utility companies is staggering. They use special interest groups to lobby our politicians and contribute millions of dollars to their campaigns in return for favors in the form of new laws designed to line their pockets at our expense. This is all perfectly legal in this country and is rotting away this great nation from the core. There is no sign that this will cease anytime soon, as greed continues to undermine our economy and living standards. This type of legal corruption entails much more than just utilities and energy, it has run rampant in many sectors of business. The personal greed of our politicians borders on pure treason. To give tax breaks to companies to move their jobs to foreign countries can only help the foreign country and harm the US. The list goes on and on, but here we are just discussing energy issues and utility companies.

Former United States Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt stated on the Diane Rehm Show (WAMU-FM, July 21, 1997):

It's an unhappy fact that the oil companies and the coal companies in the United States have joined in a conspiracy to hire pseudo scientists to deny the facts... the energy companies need to be called to account because what they are doing is un-American in the most basic sense. They are compromising our future by misrepresenting the facts by suborning scientists onto their payrolls and attempting to mislead the American people.
Diane Rehm Show, Bruce Babbitt, WAMU-FM[33]

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) stated that the largest contributor to Global Warming is the increase of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere in the last century. Most of the CO2 is coming from fossil fuels, cement production and deforestation. The IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) reports:

Human influence has been detected in warming of the atmosphere and the ocean, in changes in the global water cycle, in reductions in snow and ice, in global mean sea level rise, and in changes in some climate extremes. This evidence for human influence has grown since AR4. It is extremely likely (95–100%) that human influence has been the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-20th century. - IPCC AR5 WG1 Summary for Policymakers

Evidence of human influence contributing to global warming has been recognized by national science academies of all the major industrialized nations.

A report titled "Exxon Secrets" presented by the environmental advocate group Green Peace back in 2011 reported evidence of the energy industry funding climate change denial groups. They found that nine out of ten authors who cast doubt on man made climate change had ties to Exxon Mobil corporation. Koch Industries invested more than $50 million in the last 50 years to spreading doubt about global warming.

The UK Royal Society found that in 2005 Exxon Mobil contributed over $2.9 million to 39 different groups that "misrepresented the science of climate change by outright denial of the evidence".

The US regulators are beginning to recognize the dangers of climate change and global warming. Some of the climate change may be occurring naturally due to sun spots and and natural climate patterns, but not all of it. The NASA has proof on its website showing how humans are contributing to the problem.

More corruption from oil companies in politics. It is a documented fact that the Bush family and many others in Washington are heavily invested in the oil business, not to mention the banking industry. Long before George W. Bush became president his family created a Texas oil company called Zapata Petroleum. This company eventually merged with Penn Oil becoming Pennzoil. While George Bush was president of the US he was not directly working for an oil company, but had deep ties to Harken Oil. Dick Cheney was CEO for Halliburton Oil Services before his tenor as Vice President. Condoleezza Rice worked for Chevron before she was in office. The Clinton's and other democrats also have ties to oil companies, energy companies and banks. It is not just one political party that deals in corruption, they both do. This information is not common news, but it is easily available to anyone. There's no wonder our economy is faltering and the American standard of living has declined rapidly in the last 20 years. Legal corruption is the means and self centered greed is the cause. We the American people vote the politicians in and they work for the special interests that give them the most. At the polls we have a choice of mud slinging jokers with empty promises to choose from. My friends, the game is rigged long before we even get to the polls to cast our votes. This discussion goes much deeper than energy and climate change, but that is for another article at another time. We can help to change the energy problem by simply creating our own electricity and saving our hard earned cash. This will not solve the many issues, but it is a step in the right direction.

The people we are electing to represent our country's interest are more interested in their own bank accounts. We cannot hide our heads in the sand and pretend this will go away, we need to stand up and make them pass laws against the corruption. I hear people say our country is not what it once was, but there is nothing we can do. That is NOT true! There are peaceful solutions, if we stand together and make our politicians listen. People banding together and implementing these two steps will at least help to buy us some time to decide what needs to be done next. We can still fix our countries ills and get it back to the great nation we once enjoyed.

To summarize what we can do now.

Step one: Stop supporting utility and power companies that pollute the Earth. By making our own renewable energy and saving our money.

Step Two: Stand together to force politicians to pass laws outlawing legal corruption and special interest financial donations.

There are links below to help you with both of these steps.

It's greatly disheartening to know that the conspiracies continue at the expense of the American people. It's even more depressing to know that the interest in this subject only increases with tragedy. It never has to get to this point and it wouldn't if everyone were more aware of the circumstances at bay and everyone would make it more of a priority to know than entertainment. If we allow this rhetoric to continue without recourse, reversing the effects will be greatly increased. People need to take a stand and make a great change. Install solar now and lessen our dependency on fossil fuels and lower the risks of global warming as it takes a toll on our future environment issues.

Yeah Pollyanna I also believe the UK is ahead of the US in renewable energy. In the US they seem to want to hold on to the old energy systems as long as possible. Thanks for reading and commenting on my hub.

An interesting read. It's upsetting to see how things are in the USA. In the UK, the utility companies offer grants or even free services to help make homes "greener", such as making homes more energy efficient. There are also government schemes and grants to provide cheap or free solar panels for homes. After reading your Hub, I think maybe in the EU they're more keen to promote renewables than the USA?
