The Shortfalls You Must Know About Before You Buy Sony Xperia Tablet Z Kitchen Edition

High Cost

This tablet is a little bit pricey. Its wifi only 32GB type is being sold for more than 500 dollars. This price is a little bit high considering the fact that you get many of the functions that comes with this tablet with few other tablets having lower prices.

Battery Charging Issue

There are two are two issues with charging the battery, the first is the fact that it takes time to charge. If the battery is completely drain, you may need to spend many hours charging it before you get a full charge. The second issue is that it is quite difficult to open the charging port. The tablet is waterproof and this make it to have a port that is quite difficult to open. You may need to have a sizable nail to open it.

Lack of Full USB

Support Although this is not really spectacular because many other tablets also lack this, but it would have been better if Sony includes this just like Microsoft does for their Surface RT tablets.

Preloaded Bloatware

Sony preloaded this tablet with applications that you may never use and of course this applications take up a sizable amount of memory. Although there is a way to disable this applications but you can't completely remove them unless you root the tablet. May be Andriod OS will make it possible to remove applications with time, and ofcourse this will be a very interesting feature.

Miscellaneous Issues

It is quite unfortunate that with all the bloatwares that comes with the tablet, the tablet does not come with any reliable word processor like polaris office or any other great one. Also since the tablet back is made with plastic, this makes it to take your fingerprint when holding it. I would personally have love that the tablet is made with something like aluminum like that of ipad considering the fact that this tablet is also expensive.

Great Features You Must Know About Before You Buy Sony Xperia Tablet Z Kitchen Edition

A Kitchen Companion

This tablet is one of the few tablet if not the only one that helps you with your cooking. It comes with a bluetooth meat thermometer that allows you to monitor your food up to 200 feet away. It also comes with preloaded application (recipe application) that allows to master how to make a delicacy. The fact that the the tablet is waterproof makes you worry less when you are inside the kitchen. I can say that with Sony Xperia Tablet Z kitchen edition everybody becomes a chef. Waterproof and Dust proof

The tablet is built to be rugged. Is one of the few tablet that allows you to use it when you are in your swimming pool. You don't need to worry about using your tablet inside rain again.

Thin and Light

Sony Inc has really put much effort into making this tablet very thin and light. It is very convinent to carry it and it is thinner than a pencil. If you love thinness and lightness, then this may be a tablet for you.

Remote Control Functionality

You can easily control many of your home appliances with this tablet. This tablet comes with an infrared remote control that allows you to do this .

Miscellaneous Great Features

The display of this tablet is superb. It has a fantastic display that is better than many other tablets. The sound quality of this tablet is also decent although not very great but considering the thinness and the lightness, one should appreciate the speaker quality. The tablet also has an expandable memory, and it comes with FM radio. The battery life of this tablet last up to 10 hours depending on the usage. The battery stamina mode allows you to conserve the battery life when not in use so that it lasts for longer hours.

Precaution to Take When Using Sony Xperia Tablet Z Kitchen Edition

You must be careful with the charging port cover when using this tablet. This is because, as you open and close the charging port, there is tendency that the port cover will slack with time if you are not careful and this may make the tablet not to be waterproof again. The tablet is only waterproof when all the openings are tightly closed. I will advise that you use wireless charging dock instead of using the charging port.

Suggestion For Improvements on the Sony Xperia Tablet Z Kitchen Edition

Infrared Remote

Control Sony Inc should consider including two infrared transmitters, one on the side of the tablet and as well as one on the top, instead of just one. This will make users to be able to use the tablet as remote control in both landscape and portrait mode.

Speaker

The speaker quality is relatively good but I will suggets that Sony makes it great. The sound quality should be clearer and louder.

Summary

Sony Xperia is great tablet, with many great features like universal remote control, kitchen applications that transforms you into a chef, and an overall performance that entertains you. It is quite pricey and has few shortcomings. From overall considerations, the tablet is nice.
